Feds Try to Close the OCEAN Because of Shutdown
Just before the weekend, the National Park Service informed charter boat captains in Florida that the Florida Bay was "closed" due to the shutdown. Until government funding is restored, the fishing boats are prohibited from taking anglers into 1,100 square-miles of open ocean. Fishing is also prohibited at Biscayne National Park during the shutdown.

Politifact says its false becasue the entire ocean is not closed. But the article says much of Florida Bay is closed and that is confirmed by Politifact.

This just in. The EPA, which regulates the air says that individuals who breath air in the United States are subject to fines while the government remains shut down. The surgeon general indicated that he would have said that holding your breath till this is over might be detrimental to your health if he was allowed to, but declined to so as he might be fined while the government is shut down. Meanwhile, President Obama indicated that he is not willing negotiate on breathing regulations, but is willing to discuss the matter with those who suc b once the government is back up and running.

On a side note, our 4 yr old is going to preschool this year. $20 a day. They said they lost their funding from last year but I've noticed there's no riff raff there. The parents who don't give a crap don't send their kids so it's how I imagine a private school.
