Obama Approval Tanks to 37%, Associated Press Buries it and les Story “GOP GETS THE BLAME”

One of the biggest headlines of the day should include the fact that, according to an Associated Press poll, Obama’s approval has tanked to an astounding 37%. This piece of data should provoke a stand-alone story in and of itself. Instead, the 37% approval gets a single sentence in the seventh paragraph of a story led “POLL: GOP Gets the Blame In Shutdown.”
    I kid you not.

Here are the first three paragraphs of the story.

Americans are holding Republicans primarily responsible for the partial government shutdown as public esteem sinks for all players in the impasse, President Barack Obama among them, according to a new poll. It’s a struggle with no heroes.

The Associated Press-GfK survey, out Wednesday, affirms expectations by many in Washington — Republicans among them — that the GOP may end up taking the biggest hit in public opinion from the fiscal paralysis, just as that party did when much of the government closed 17 years ago. But the situation is fluid nine days into the shutdown and there’s plenty of disdain to go around.
Overall, 62 percent mainly blamed Republicans for the shutdown. About half said Obama or the Democrats in Congress bear much responsibility.

Here’s the disaster data they hid seven paragraphs down.

Most Americans disapprove of the way Obama is handling his job, the poll suggests, with 53 percent unhappy with his performance and 37 percent approving of it.

This means Obama has lost 7% of his approval in a matter of weeks, yet AP claims America throws all the blame at Republicans?
Granted, Congress has a lower approval rating, but that has been the case for years. How often does America have a President with only 37% approval?

The sam way they have a congress with 5% approval rating.

Americans are pissed with their government - ALL of it. But more people blame Republicans than blame democrats. The article is showing a trend that has been occurring for weeks - last week the congress' approval rating was at 10%, which someone related to 'friends and family members votes'. Now that they are down to 5%, it looks like some of them have lost even their family and friends.

Actually, most people other than the lowest-information partisan homers (i.e. the Boutons and the Welfare Cobras) blame both sides because they're all exactly the same and suck ass, tbh....

this is the VRWC/Repug strategy, make American HATE and above all weaken govt so the VRWC can assume more power to Americans.

Nobody needs to "make" people dislike and distrust the government, tbh.... our politicians do a good enough job of making us hate them all by themselves

You know what's funny about the ACA? Until its repealed it's never going away as a negative for the democrats. Every up, every piece of leaked personal information, every time the website goes down, it will fall squarely on the democrats shoulders. Republicans will be able to rant and rave against it until the end of time.

And those are averages for 2nd terms... Barry still has to hit 25% or so to actually average 37%...

Which he would, if Congress wouldn't be so bad to outshine him on his suckitude...
