le says it all. I don't participate in major party politics but I am wondering if those that do will be putting Cruz back on the ticket in 2018?

I disagree. First impressions are what they are. If anything between now and 2018 will be remembered it will be the first impression. The he does for the next 4 years not so much.

There's truth to this. Many people forgot Obama's debt ceiling quotes from 2006.

    Gohmert

When asked whether he would allow the government to default on its debt, Gohmert projected the responsibility for such cir stances onto Obama.

"No," he said, "that would be an impeachable offense by the president."

If he allows the country to default, he gets impeached.

If he invokes the 14th amendment and pays the bills, he gets impeached.

WOW these people need to be jailed for treason.

I doubt it. I voted for him mainly because Ron Paul endorsed him and seemed like he had good intentions but I'm thinking I'm going to vote for only 3rd party candidates or just not vote. I'm probably done with both parties.

Looks like Texas red team is sticking by their boy....

HOUSTON — Senator Ted Cruz, Republican of Texas and the face of the angry right, has been criticized, lambasted and lampooned for putting the nation through a 16-day government shutdown and the prospect of a financial default.

Bloomberg Businessweek put him on its cover as a mad hatter who defines how “crazy is the new normal.” Representative Peter T. King, a Republican from New York, has said Republican leaders need to go after Mr. Cruz and accused him of bringing the country “to the edge of ruin.”

In Texas, it is a different story.
Drivers speeding down a busy highway about 70 miles outside Houston have been greeted with two blunt messages that Bruce Labay put up at his oil field services business. One declared that Mr. Labay was tired of softhearted Republicans, though he used a more colorful adjective. The other read, “We Need More Republicans Like Ted Cruz.”

Mr. Labay, 55, made his signs by sticking 1,200 plastic foam cups, one by one, into the loops of his chain-link fence, a 90-minute project that filled much of the fencing around BL Oilfield Services in the town of El Campo.

I remember reading a book about the Bushes. When he arrived in TX, 'HW' literally thought the TX GOPers were crazy. Even in those days, the 1940s I guess, they were already talking secession and other rubbish.

So, in answer to the question, yes, the TX GOP will not only vote for him in the primary, they will vote for him in the general election.

Ted Cruz gets hero's welcome from Texas GOP women

With roars of approval from hundreds of GOP women gathered in San Antonio, Sen. Ted Cruz defended his political tactics in Congress on Saturday and vowed to continue the uphill fight against the new federal health care law despite backlash even from fellow Republicans.

Dashing from city to Texas city to meet with cons uents now that the federal budget crisis he's blamed for has subsided, Cruz drew a hero's welcome from the Texas Federation of Republican Women meeting at the Grand Hyatt. Acknowledging he's “reviled” by some in Washington, Cruz said it's a relief to be back where he's “appreciated.”

    Texans have REAL CHOICE!

Yes, America. There is a Texan who is worse than Ted Cruz

    great Americans like Blake Farenthold:

The federal government shutdown has shaken many Americans trust in their government. Here in Corpus Christi many people are criticizing Republican Congressman Blake Farenthold.

The most recent Gallup poll shows 81 percent of Americans are dissatisfied with the government. We talked with Representative Farenthold about what the shutdown did to the nation and the fact that some residents here say they wouldn’t vote for him again.

Farenthold argued that the dissatisfaction with the government likely comes more from recent scandals like Benghazi or the NSA scandal than the government shutdown.

    [...]

We asked him about the people who say he’s lost their vote; people like retired veterans who were on the verge of losing their disability checks next month.

He said the stalemate in Washington was necessary to achieve party goals.

“I feel like my mandate when I was elected was to go reduce the size of government, lower taxes, and increase freedom, and freedom isn’t free, and sometimes you have to make a small sacrifice to move forward with what you’re after,” Congressman Farenthold said.

To sum up, Farenthold to disabled vets:

    Let them eat Benghazi.
