Anyone have experience with them? You may know them as Sager or other names but it's the same manufacturer. Need a laptop and am looking at options.

They're great, you get awesome bang for your buck as far as laptops go, and they're generally well built and sturdy. I've heard nothing but amazing things about Sager.

ASUS does have some sick "G" series laptops. I'm not sure you can get the same amount of options versus customizing a Sager laptop though..

TC, is there a specific need to warrant a gaming laptop vs a gaming desktop?

I like Asus products although the screen on my last Asus laptop recently went out. That being said, I like the freedom of what I can build with Sagers and want to try something else.

For example no Asus is going to be able to hold a candle to something like http://www.sagernotebook.com/index.p...el_name=NP9570

Can't load emulators and assemblers on a PS3. Am looking forward to the PS4 though.

no. Macbook gives no productivity advantage over a PC. You can buy a laptop with better specs for less money, and better specs > cool glowing Apple on the lid IMO.

If you're already familiar with OS X and the suite of OS X apps, yes.

i know they don't make the 17" anymore...
I hear the 17" models might make a comeback soon...

it's not for me. it's for a friend of mine who's in IT product design and pretty much everyone works with the mac os in their program. i guess the cheapest prices are through apple itself?

You can get a good deal buying refurb directly from Apple:

    http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/specialdeals/mac

    They include the standard warranty.

best thing about clevo, is that u can upgrade the parts especially the graphics card..u can always buy direct from them, yes bang for buck as far specs can go in a box....these clowns sell laptops with 1920x1080 resol screens on 15inchs compared to the major players
