What is your ball handling skill?
I am trying to play a scoring point guard in my career mode and am having a huge issue. When I try to penetrate the lane in ISO, the ball is at least 90% of the time stolen. I try the straight drive w/o dribble moves, then try with dribble moves all to the same effect. Is there something that I am doing wrong?

90 for both hands and 90 for ball security.
Hmm.. not sure if this issue would be one specific to the mode you're playing or what.. I'm in an Association season and haven't noticed any ballhandling issues like that, and this is using players with less than 90's for the ball handling skills.
Maybe the technique is an issue? I mean are you deliberate in your right stick ISO moves, or are you trying to chain too many together you think?
This happens to me in every mode. If I chain moves together I don't usually do more than a 2 move combo.
Have you tried rubbing the underside of the disc on concrete? I read on another forum this usually resolves most issues..

Move the shot stick a half circle starting with the dribbling hand while moving to do a nifty spin that fools the ai often. Also you can just press left and right to crossover dribble, keep doing that until you break their ankles or they gamble for a steal and you just blow right by them. I like pump fakes before dribbling to sometimes get the ai off their feet for an easy lane to the basket.

On the one hand, I think that's an impressive level of immersion I had never even considered. On the other hand that's ing bull .

Yep. I just got rid of my Xbox 360 and got the PS4 with NBA 2k14. The next gen version is sick. I don't seem to be having any issues penetrating the lane anymore now.
As far as my troubles for the 360 version, my defender ALWAYS seemed to push me to a help defender no matter how many ISO moves I would throw at him. The help defender was virtually 90% successful at poking the ball loose. If he didn't poke the ball loose, then the rest of the time after I recover my dribble it is immediately stolen by my defender. I never quite figured it out. I got ankle breaker level 3 and still no success getting in the lane. Like I said, it wouldn't bother me so much if I could do the same thing defensively. Even if I read the move correctly they would still be able to get by me.
No offense but you sound like the typical cheeser online player who dances at the top of the three point line with iso moves until the defense breaks after 17 attempts. You must run plays in this game to be successful, there are only a few players that can expect to have an easy time w/ ISO moves.
I don't play online. I am talking about my career mode. I always follow the plays, but when the play is iso for me, I cannot seem to shake my defender even though stats wise I should be able to.
how come out of the box this game looks so much better on the ps4
while ps3 is less package, lol pc version have u seen the graphics? its fkn shocking
Built a new engine from the ground up for the crapsoles. Wait till 2015 on PC with mods.
I started a career mode, not having this issue at all.
But I do have alot of problem scoring when I need to. Like when they issue you a challenge is like the game makes it almost impossible to score or do whatever it is you need to do.
One game I'm lighting it up and then the next I cant even make a shot.
I think this is how the career mode is set up. They dont want you winning all the games you play.
I'm with the Blazers now. That team sucks on there.
2K14 has issues with kicked ball violations. If you drive the paint and anyone is around at all, you will lose the ball and if your team is up 10pts or more in My Career mode, it will probably be a turnover because the game often does freaky to keep the game close so it can offer you bonus challenges like "bring your team within 5". It cannot do that if you're always up by 20pts. You'll notice that the opponent's 3pt percentage, their offensive rebounding and 2nd chance points will increase the further ahead you are in the game. If you're up 20 in the 4th, you'll be lucky to keep it in double digits because scrubs will be killing it from outside off of offensive rebounds by non-rebounding players surrounded by your team. If you slow the motion in instant replay, you'll see the ball does funny , like caroms off of non-existent objects and moves in curves to reach the opposition's hands. You'll notice any ball that hits the rim for them will bounce in, and your team's wide open layups will roll around and fall off the rim.
It's annoying, but it's almost a scripted event. It's been going on since the inception of the series.
End of game stats for teams will show your opponent with 16 or so offensive boards, you'll be lucky to have 2. That's not your fault,. you cannot get 16 offensive rebounds by yourself. Your team is made very dumb while the opponent seems to move the ball and play with some awareness. You'll have guys standing out behind the 3 wide open, you find them on a kick out and they just stand there or pass the ball around the horn. I usually trade those ers right away. Oh, and Bonner never goes beyond the arc.. he thinks he's a center.
The game will definitely you up in the sake of keeping it close.
I often get subbed out with a healthy lead and when I come back we're automatically down 10 or even 15 in the span of my subs ution.
The game does do that to give you goals like reduce the gap, take the lead, go on a run and so on.
As for the freaky with the kicked ball thing, haven't had that issue.
Where are you playing it? PC? PS3 or 4?
Has career mode on the PS4 worked for anyone else this week? Everytime I try to play my career, it goes to the loading screen (where it says "starring your name"). But instead of having my name there, it just says "starring ********". It then has an error message saying that it can't load.
Everything else in the game works fine. I can even use my career player for blacktop.
Did you let the game install completely?
Game will let you play certain parts of it with half it it installed but wont let you in certain modes until you completely have it installed.
Happened to me when I got it. I started playing right away but had to wait for it to install the game completely before I could get to the play MyCareer.
Yes, I've actually played about 70 games of MyCareer mode, and then it just randomly stopped working.
The latest update to the game fixed the issue.
