If we stay healthy I like our chances. I think Spurs will be pissed from last year, and hope that pop keeps giving them fire of what happened in game six when things aren't going right this season. Hopefully the regular season will go fast.
it's hard for me to get really pumped for the new season. last year was such a long year. i feel like the first half of the season really doesn't matter. we all know we are going to make the playoffs, likely in the top half of the WC playoffs (seed 1-4). it only matters once we're there.
although tbh after a close game where we pull out a win, or if we see big things from Kawhi, i'm sure my mindset will change![]()
No way. Last year was our shot and we blew it. We just gave the league more film of our turnover machine's tendencies.
Got a good shot to get back to the finals.
They've gotten closer and closer the past few years using the previous years disappointment as motivation. Last year will be used as the ultimate motivational tool. Pop has already made them watch Game 6, I'd imagine he pulls out that card again once or twice during the season.
Now, how that translates onto the court remains to be seen. But if healthy, I really feel this team can get back to where they were a year ago and finish the job. They wanted to put an emphasis on being an elite defensive team, and they accomplished that. This year, they want to put an emphasis on defending the 3 which obviously killed us in the last couple games. Factor that in with an offense that already plays extremely efficient, and the depth/chemistry already in place... All we need is to be healthy.
What team out west is better. I would say None. If the Spurs are relatively healthy, like the past two years, I wouldn't be surprise if they make the Finals again this coming year.
regardless of everything that happens, every year i believe the spurs will win it all... maybe you should just choose a new team for yourself and be gone already.
Our main compe ion in the West, the Thunder, have gotten weaker for a 2nd consecutive year. The Clippers are marginally better. The Rockets are a wildcard that can be elite or might be middle of the pack among playoff teams. The Warriors at full health could make a big push for the division against the Clippers. The Warriors and Rockets worry me the most out west because they are sort of unknowns. How much better will the Warriors be with Iguodala, who is not a great shooter? How much better will the Rockets be with Dwight, and now Harden is getting more and more acclimated to being "the guy" on a team
I just can't get excited from the regular season. Playoffs is a whole different world and I just can't wait for that intensity and buzz.
Completely disagree with you.
Every single time Tim Duncan takes the court and competes at a high level these days, it's a gift. Nothing less than that. Regular season, playoffs, it doesn't matter, watching him work the boards and destroy players with 3x his athleticism and 12 years less NBA time on their knees is a joy.
I'm going to watch every single second I can of Duncan, Parker, and Manu this year. One last time, perhaps one last run.
It's gonna happen.
2K14 SAYS NO , BUT _UCK'EM! LOL

That was not the question. The query was, "Are we gonna win the championship this year or not?" Answer: No.
You can believe you will win the lottery, too, but the odds aren't in your favor.
I love how just because I am rational and reasonable in believing SA won't win it all this year I should stop being a fan. Silly suggestion at best.
All about health at this point.
http://blog.mysanantonio.com/spursna...oesnt-want-to/“It will never go away, and we’ll never forget it,” Duncan said. “You get that close to a championship, it’s not something you’re going to forget. Some people want to forget, some people don’t. I don’t want to forget it.
“It’s an experience. We had a great run and we came up a little short. There’s no way to not think about it. But we’re going to start a season and we’re going to try to make another run.”
no, i think as everyone else has pointed out, you repeating yourself over and over again isn't winning you any fans. no one cares whether or not you hate manu now or in the future... get over it. in the end, i love my spurs too but it's a in' game played by grown men and that's that.
stay humble spurfan
It's possible. That is the best answer I can give. We need more from Leonard, Green, and Splitter. Those players are the keys outside of Timmy, Manu, and Parker. Manu is obviously declining, so what do we get from the next 3 best players on the roster?
I don't want to sound overly optimistic but with some decent luck in staying healthy, I like our chances.
Honestly if were healthy, yes. I think manu is gonna have a major bounce back year and if Parker Duncan and kawhi are healthy, I see no reason why we cant
I'll go with no, but they will get close. Last season was a of a lot of fun though, and this one should be as well.
Make the playoffs.
Win the last game you play.
