Not no, but NO!
I know a trade for him would probably never happen, but does anybody else like this guy? I've always liked the energy he brought off the bench and I think he would be a great backup at SF.
Eduardo Najera
Position: SF
Born: July 11, 1976
Height: 6-8
Weight: 235 lbs.
College : Oklahoma
Not no, but NO!
Jesus ... poor Najera
I was kidding, you know off season and with spare time.![]()
I think he makes a bit too much money. If I recall the numbers correctly, he's at about 4.5m per year.
Yeah, he's still got 3 years on his contract. Like I said, I don't think a trade for him would happen... I was just curious what people thought of him.
Good energy, no skillz.
He does play good thug ball though, which I both appreciate and respect.
He is a step up from that Madsen dude, forgot his first name. Good guy off the bench and very physical. That's why I suspect previous poster hates the guy, same reason why a lot of ppl hate Bowen.
As much as I dislike Najera, I would agree with that statement.
Najera has no skills and is pure energy.
Hypothetically, he'd be deep bench, but it would be nice to have that kind of energy there. Assuming that we're losing Marks, Mass, etc.
I'd take him on our team if only to make sure he can't injure one of our players in a game... although I'd keep him on the bench during practice.
Well the Nuggets might waive him with the amnesty clause, so then he might be available really cheap. But he's not worth trading for .. he has 3 years/$13M left on his contract. He'd be a decent player for $1-2M, but not for that much.
I always thought he was a bit overpaid - his numbers shot up when he got to Denver, but nothing to highlight. I remember Don Nelson saying that he loved the "spark" that Na brought off the bench, but I never thought it warranted the money.
There is only one reason why I would want Najera on the Spurs. He will not be able to hurt any of our guys if he is on our team..
...
Now that I think about it the odds would grow astronomically if he is on our team..His falling down and diving for loose balls always seem to hit a spur in the knees or head..I have revised my original statement. There is no way I would want this guy on the Spurs. Home town boy or not..
He'd be the Mexican Poor Man's Malik if he joined the team.
Or the Poor Man's Mexican Malik....
Not the Poor Mexican Man's Malik....
Well, maybe....
He's a Malik wannabe.
*disclaimer you posted this when I hit Reply that's why ours are similar, abeit yours better.
man, najera would be a hero here in sanantonio if he was a spur.
our spurs are lucky he wasn't healthy for round 1.
spurs still win, no doubt, but that series would have gone more than 5 games.
That dude would be adored here in San Antonio. Greatest Mexican basketball player of all-time.
I agree. A Najera/Bowen combo would take any opposing team out of their gameplan everytime.
you know we had a better verion of him, and we traded him
Najera isn´t a perimeter defender... he´s a low post defender...
He´s got some skillz... ask Manu when Argentian was defeated y Mexico Najera was the Top Scorer (twice if I remeber)
Any comparison of Najera to Malik Rose is so far out in space I can't even address it. There IS no comparison.
Since when is Najera a SF?? Always thought he was a PF. In fact, didn't the Mavs have him playing C in summer league a year or two ago?
