Well, give Rondo a few games and see how it goes
If he s it up, then I agree, trade him for 2 good young role players, or for a pair of sneakers to dump his salary
Or better yet, 3 draft picks
Real talk, are they really going to be that much better with this locker room cancer back in the lineup? I don't think so. If anything they've been a pleasant surprise and might be actually worse with Rondo, despite Rondo's clear borderline superstar status. Chemistry thing. Thoughts?

the celts are rebuilding so there's really not point for them in holding on to a prime-age player imho. They will trade him before the trade deadline but they don't wanna sell him cheap. trade him to a playoff team and get back the equivalent value in the forms of draft picks and young prospects. February is still a few months from now so they ain't in no hurry trading him imho.
Solid take brah![]()
^ sounds great, he and Monta would give us the league's fastest backcourt but I don't think we have any assets that may possibly appeal to the celtics tbh. The Celtics want more than just someone taking his contract away imho.
Rondo for granger tbh... Celtics dont get left hanging because rondo would probably leave anyway, so they get a guy they can at least somewhat build around. Pacers 100% solve the point guard issue.. makes perfect sense!
Celtics have no interest in expensive contracts. Granger is Abdur-Rahim. You can't build around those types.
The Pelicans missed their chance to get him in the off-season. They could still be players add part of a multi-team deal, though. Houston had the assets to make one more big move. Maybe Rondo and Bass for Asik (or rather the haul a third team gives for him) and Lin will be that trade.
Besides, Rondo is basically the Celtic's last mainstay from their recent glory days. Getting rid of him would signal to the fans that the Celtics have gone into full-blown rebuilding mode, and I'm sure it's hard enough to draw attendance in that town right now.
Rondo is a big question mark, what he mainly has for him is his history of performing better in the POs but he's also a statpadder who can't shoot and who doesn't lead good offenses...
Who can get him and still have him as their 3rd best player because that's what he needs to be? Not many teams... Not many team willing to part with their 2014 first round pick either so I think he stays put unless the Celtics lower the asking price...
They thought they could get Drummond but they couldn't and rightfully so. You don't trade a potential first banana for Rondo...
The Bucks may be interested tho, they have plenty of bigs, Sanders has a rough start of the season and they're second guessing themselves... No PG (well there's the injured scrub don't remember the name). Celtics get their defensive anchor, Bucks start Henson. I believe the salaries are similar... Rondo feeding Neal would be nice tbh, good pairing of two one dimensional players...

rondo to pistons makes sense in exchange for monroe whom i think the pistons still havnt extended him
whose the pistons starting pg? another no name scrub right?
i think rondo can lead a young team to the playoffs and maybe more.
he is so underrated
Celtics should wait and see how he comes back, and potential trade teams would want to see that too.
No team is gonna trade for Rondo without knowing how he is physically.
His contract is not a small one: $12M this year, and $13M the next.
Theres also the issue of extension. Would a team risk trading for him without an guaranteed extension.
Does he want to be a FA in 2 years?
Can they gets 2014 picks? I dont think so.
And I dont think players like Asik want to go to Boston.
Celtics are rebuilding, with or without him.
Celtics made the playoffs without him last year...
He still doesn't have a consistent jump shot and he's a bad FT shooter for a guard
he's also coming off an ACL tear
there's seriously 0 argument for him until he returns and proves that he can actually lead a team without KG and Pierce on it.
there is no point for the pistons to extent monroe right now, maybe I'm wrong but I don't see them not extending.
Pistons have Billups and Jennings baby![]()
The Pacers would be a good fit for Rondo but I seriously doubt the Celtics have any interest in Granger and it wouldn't be equal value anyways. Would take another player and/or a couple draft picks imo. A team like Orlando might be a possibility too. They need a PG and have young assets that Boston would legitimately consider.
the thought of the celtics trading rondo is really disturbing for me tbh.. i don't see why would they trade him to tank, you can lose with him on the court too, it's really not that hard to lose if you want. not to mention, they have a lot of tools already, they need just one more big that is actually legit and they have their core done.
He's also a known stat-padder who will purposefully sabotage both the halfcourt and the transition offense to get cheap assists, tbh....
boom great trade. Rondo for Granger and Hill.
too bad forces unbeknowns to us would not allow this to happen
like what? You mean stern?
could easily trade him for jennings and knight...seriously pistons dont need jennings dont know why they sign him, they need a pass first pg who will utilize its big men frontline of drummond, monroe and smith....
I surely don't disagree with that
