No.
He is a big boy who can punish undeveloped little twerps like Anthony Davis. Pop must unleash Bayne!
No.
Baynes is an end of the bench scrub. Davis is an all-star calibre player. Horrible thread.
He can start 4 times this season, just to beat up on the pussy ass that is Dwight Coward.
I feel for the guy. Pop destroyed any confidence he had gained in the preseason.
Bane could be a beast if allowed to wreak some havoc on Gotham. Big body, bruiser potential, unlike the charmin-soft Tiago. I do not like Ayres however.
Baynes is ing horrible. He's shooting .167 for the season. Mr. I Missed Four Dunks is shooting .410.
So the only way a player can be good in the league is if they shoot well?
Well, it helps if you make more than 1 shot in 6.
He has been taking jumpshots.
I remember last night a play, where Mills pass him the ball with 4-5 seconds left, and he was like: What! Have it back! Dont give me the ball to make a jumpshot.
Im not saying he shoulkd start, Im saying thats not his game.
It helps when he gets more than 5 mins in garbage time over 5 games to make such an evaluation.
Yeah, that one play was bad, but he's been missing bunnies around the rim, too.
The Spurs are a meritocracy. You get the minutes you earn.
This, tbh.
Pop can be somewhat 'conservative' in his approach to determining merit.
I grant that he will give everyone a chance but its been 5 games in and Baynes has not been given a shot.
People needs to have Duncan, Splitter, Diaw and Bonner injured to see Baynes earning big minutes and proving to everyone that he's a effin scrub. How annoying is this bullsh*t.
He's never going to start or be the first big in. If he can't be effective in limited minutes, he's of no use to this club. Period.
Can I borrow your crystal ball?
On second thought, maybe not. He was the first big in against GS and fared rather well on the glass and defense.
I was referring to sample size in terms of minutes.
Ayres showed potential that I hadn't seen until last night. Baynes seems to be a dime a dozen NBA player who has the physical tools to do something in in the league but never can. Neither scream rotation player as of now, I'd doubt they will.
It certainly doesn't hurt. Most defensive specialists on playoff teams have a skill that help their teams on offense
Bomner > Baynes
Bonner > Ayres
Most of the spurstalk users criticized Pop for not using Splitter for two years and now they complain about his aparently irreversible softness in the attack. Bayes is the same case: people complain about Pop not using Baynes, but will criticize him because he's too raw, turnover prone, etc
If Baynes was any good, the spurs wouldn't find him in a far east club. Good players are in the Spanish league or at least greece, turkey or even Chinese league.
Baynes has been Poped.
Maybe next year.
