or.. a whole lot of luck
Remember when we had this discussion before the season? Who had the best lineup? Well, here are the numbers so far...you judge for yourself:
Team Aggregate Stats: 2005
RK TEAM G AB R H 2B 3B HR TB RBI BA OBP SLG OPS

10 Baltimore 99 3383 470 931 186 20 137 1568 457 .275 .331 .463 .795
Even with HORRIBLE pitching this year, Boston is in first place. So it follows that they do have the best lineup....agree?
or.. a whole lot of luck
Where did you get those stats? I was just watching the Tigers game sundat, and they said Detroit was 5th in the AL in batting average. Just curious.
ESPN baseball stats
Detroit is tied for 5th in BA with .275
The ranking is by runs, I think.
Boston has highest BA too
The Sox do, Jim. But I know that Cincy doesn't have the fourth best offense in the majors.
The good offense combats the bad pitching well(4.82 era).
Their pitching totally sucks..if they had the Houston staff, they would be undefeated, I think.
4-1 Boston against Tampa right now..
I still like texas for best lineup.
The Reds offense is pretty loaded. If their pitching didn't have an ERA over 6 they would be pretty damn good.
Casey, Dunn, Griffey, Kearns, Wily Mo, Felipe Lopez. They got some pop.
I have never been a guy to judge just on numbers alone.
I think Texas has the best line up.
Followed closely by Boston.
I think the Yankees have the best offensive lineup. Boston has a better over-all team.
Why am i not suprised that this would be a love the Red Sox thread.
before they lost 4 regulars
the Cardinals had a pretty potent lineup
Grudzielanek, hitting 285 almost 300 hitting in the 7th hole is pretty damn good
Reggie Sanders before fracturing his leg was on par for a 30 30 season
Larry Walker when healthy (wich I know is an oxymoron,) was beating the out of the ball
Pujols has been Pujols
the only guys that have dissapointed are Molina and Edmonds.
Molina not so much, kids only 23.
This coming from a Cardinal fan..
It's obvious it's either the Rangers or the Yankees..
That would be okthe Rangers or the Yankees
if either team were worth a , when they arent.
Worth a ?
Texas has the most power of those lineups easily.
yeah, you know, teams in the playoffs!??!?!Worth a ?
Is that why Boston outscored Texas 35-15 in their 3 game series this week???

The Rangers need help in the pitching area...
it's so in obvious.
Not surprising since Fenway is a hitter's ballpark.
oooo????
If I am not mistaken, Texas got to hit too.

Boston's team ERA is not too far behind Texas'.
1 Tampa Bay 114 996.0 43 71 1.57 1.47 6.04 .283 .821 5.67
2 Kansas City 113 982.2 38 75 1.59 1.62 6.05 .292 .817 5.56
3 Texas 113 1007.0 56 57 1.47 1.83 5.93 .281 .780 5.06
