Barry hopefully will bounce back next season because if he doesn't he will probably be traded.

If you really compare the regular season accuracy versus the playoffs...

the Spurs' wing 3-pt. shooters really stepped up in the playoffs, when it counted. The PGs are the ones who suffered in the playoffs :

    Player....Reg. Playoffs
    Horry .. .370 .447
    Ginobili .376 .438
    Bowen .403 .433
    Barry .. .357 .424

    Parker .276 .188
    Udrih .. .408 .270

Easy enough when you play 4 games from behind against a team that doesn't play a whole lot of defense. Those guys never had another series to bring their percentages down.

Context is always more important than any sheer number.

That's true, but I'm just pointing out that they aren't a bad 3PT shooting team.

You are right though, they didn't take any number near the amount that the Spurs shot.

Jones was 3-5 for the entire playoffs. Manu averaged more than 4 3pt attempts per game for the playoff run. Jones's numbers basically represent one good game. The other guys are pretty much in the same boat.

The more telling number is that of the 4 guys in your post, only Mike Miller was in the top 50 in 3pt% for the regular season. I'll take evidence of what a guy did over 82 games (or over a career) than evidence of what a guy did in a short playoff series.

I mean Wes Matthews once averaged 25 ppg and shot 65% for the Spurs in a 3 game playoff series, but nobody would seriously argue that he was "not a bad" scorer; his career numbers look a whole lot like Speedy Claxton's career numbers.

the spurs except tony and beno did really well with 3pt shooting, i see several reasons:

    1) they are just good, men! this guys are clutch and know what playoff is about
    2) generally other team were playing inside defense and prevent our guards to penetrate. the result was clogging the paint and daring spurs to shoot from outside with more room than regular season.
    3) the Spurs spirit and ball sharing, the extra pass that characteryze the best teams (spurs phoenix detroit...) this extra pass combined with our guard speeds and big men ability to pass allow open three which is a beautiful gift for people like horry.
