This guy is just a play maker, a game change. Oh mama, this boy is smooth. Not to mention, he's a menace in the passing lanes (switching lanes). What I like about him is that he's got the size to break traps and handles. Give me one reason why this guy isn't playing. Once again, WE DONT NEED the likes of Patty Mills (aka our point guard doing the bulk of the scoring). We need a guy that can run the offense and get shots for other guys like Danny Green or Boris Diaw or Tiago Splitter.

i don't see a problem with giving him spot minutes, to see if he can earn his way into the rotation. but he is currently not worthy of a regular rotation spot. he has talent, but he refuses to maintain any level of aggression which really hinders his game. when he gets aggressive, he gets turnover prone though.

imo he can't be a pure point guard, since he's not quick enough to hang with other team's pg's on defense. rather, he has to fill in a manu-esque pg/sg role, preferably in a matchup where the other team is using a small-ish shooting guard. he also needs to become more confident in a spot up 3 pointer to set up the rest of his game against an aggressive closeout

I'll agree that Mills is not a play-maker. He's a shooter and a tenacious defender but that's it. However, the problem I have with De Colo is that he's not a very good athlete. He does everything at 1/2 the speed that Parker/Mills/Joseph do. He's also the worst shooter, and the worse defender of the bunch. To me he lacks the overall quickness and ball handling to be a PG, yet he can't play any other position because of his poor shooting and lack of athleticism.

He needs to be traded. He'd be great on another team, but the Spurs want to Pound The Rock, meaning they want to run up and down the floor with speedy PG's that can run, shoot, and defend. And De Colo doesn't excel at any of those things.

Can't shoot, defend, has an atrocious assist to turnover ratio for a pg and complains a lot. What team could use a player with those attributes?

So you would sacrifice Marco and Manu's PT for Nando to get a shot?? I like Nando, but he's not getting time over those two baring an injury.

Pop gave him a shot last year and found out that he couldn't earn more PT with the skills he has being offset by his limitations. Don't be fooled by the occasional flashy pass.

Probably will/should return to Euroleague to find his place in BB universe.

Yep and he sucked in SUMMER league for Gods sakes, could not even shine there to show the Spurs he needs more PT. This post is spot on.

Nando is like your back-up gun in CoD Zombie mode. When your best gun runs out of ammo and the zombies are coming right at you it makes sense to switch, but never before then.

But of course we always have monkeys to use (Joseph, Mills) before even needing to switch to our second gun. We can just buy time to reload our first gun (Parker) and keep using it. So there's really no need to even have a second gun. Unless for some reason you run out of monkeys and are left with no other option than to switch.

I agree with you about playing time, but he's going to have to wait his turn like Patty Mills did. He will get all the playing time he can handle next year when Manu retires. We are loaded at the guard positions Parker , Manu , Mills , CoJo , Nando, Green, Marco. Remember Splitter sitting his rookie year? that's how POP works. I expect "Aladdin" to ride his magic carpet heavily next year. JUST DON'T TRADE HIM!

Everyone had a chance to win the spot. CJ and NDC blew it, they have to wave towels for now and wait for the next opportunity to come.

We have enough play makers and great passers in the 2nd unit with Manu, Beli and Diaw.
This is why Patty fits so well with those guys as he can play a SG on O and a PG on D, I can see this clear as day and the 2nd unit be rollin why mess with something that is working so well.
