Go Howard Go!!
Howard Dean, that is. Yep, He's at it again. In a speech to college Democrats Friday night, Dean went into orbit; among other things, he denounced the Supreme Court's Kelo decision and blamed it on President Bush:
This is utterly bizarre. President Bush has not yet placed anyone on the Court, and the Kelo majority consisted of the Court's liberals (plus Anthony Kennedy), with the Court's conservatives (plus Sandra O'Connor) dissenting. Either Dean is astonishingly ignorant, or he assumes that young Democrats are.
Then, as he does in speech after speech, Dean accused Republicans of being immoral:
More lunacy. Ever since Social Security taxes started generating a surplus, that surplus has been spent on other government programs, under Democratic and Republican administrations alike, and regardless of which party controlled either house of Congress. Dean can't possibly be ignorant of this fact.
Then there's this: "'I am sick of being divided!' Dean shouted over the applause." Yes, that's right: Howard Dean, uniter of Americans!
Yet Dean continues as chairman of the Democratic National Committee, and an overwhelming majority of Democrats cheer his absurd pronouncements. Isn't it reasonable to ask, at this point, whether there are any adults left in the Democratic Party? And if so, where are they?
why are you cheering for howard??
having howard as DNC head is like the republicans having Pat Buchannan as head chairman. THanks to dean he is a guarantee to a Democrat defeat in '08. he better shut his mouth especially since his words will be used against him to rile up the christian conservative base.
Exactly! Go Howard! Go!
actually, thanks to the republicans getting control of everything, the democrats will lose in '08
not because of this dean character you refer to
HOWARD!!!HOWARD!!!
HOWARD!!!
(Maybe they'll come up with a dancing donkey emoticon)
It really doesn't matter who is the leader of the Democrats. The right will demonize them, lift phrases out of context, take political hyperbole and frame it as a personal afront.
How is anything Dean says any worse than what Rove said in the speech regarding liberals responding to 911?
Answer, it isn't, it only depends on your perspective.
i'm startign to hate republican politicians less and less. They are actually to be praised. Because they have their together and are REALLY smart (relatively) because they have over half the voting nation in the palm of their hand, and completely brainwashed. Blind faith. what else would a ruling elite hope for?
