my take is simple....include Deon Waiters or waive him out right and be just good enough to not get a top 5 pick....my Lakers will have other opportunities to trade Gasol during the trade deadline while Cleavland's clock expires Jan 7 and you could say it expires today because the players need to take those physicals to make the trade official. If Cleavland wants to get Pau for nothing then they should get nothing, NO DEAL!!!

What's amusing is that there's nothing the Cavs can do to make the Lakers a better team. They can make them have a better record by the end of the season, but it just hurts them in the lottery. Cavs can trade Bynum elsewhere though. Problem is that the Mike Brown hiring might have some inside shenanigans going on with the Lakers and that trade might have been part of the deal, and they are now making it appear like a negotiation. Not sure if Mike is still being paid by the Lakers, I doubt it, so the Lakers will have gotten out of Mike's contract and dumped Gasol's contract for absolutely nothing after Bynum is waived.

The Lakers owe Brown approximately $7 million for the remaining two years on his contract with the team, but the Cleveland hiring will offset some of that. According to a team source, the Lakers expect "at most" half of what they owe Brown to be offset and that the $3-4 million that it would amount to would be a "grain of sand on the beach" when it comes to impacting the Lakers' finances. The Lakers will not know the final amount they will save on the Brown hiring until his new contract with the Cavs is finalized and approved by the league, which could take "up to a month," according to the source.

Potato Head is still on the payroll IIRC. So is Pringles - and no PJ.

Lakers should stand pat, there are plenty of teams that will go after Gasol before the deadline. Cleveland should just pay Bynum his $6 million and waive his ass.

can't wait until Bynum gets waived and we claim his ass. We got curbstomped in the paint yet again tonight, grabbing only 34 rebounds compared to Knicks' 47 even when big daddy TC only played 4 minutes.
