He should be pissed at his ex wife(and her attorney), not the judge. Sounds like they're trying to make it an issue just because he's a black man and the judge is a white female, tbh. Child support laws are bull though.

I understand that contemptuousness to judges normally results in jail time, but in no way is this in the best interest of the kid.

this. i hope the voters in that district are paying attention come election time. how is he supposed to support his child when he'll probably lose his job behind this and get sent to jail?

Well his child support was all paid up and everyone agreed as such. His ex wanted him to pay her court costs and attorney's fees---THAT is what he's going to jail for. But yea, stupid judge.
Is this worse than imprisoning a guy for a crime he didn't commit, then throwing him back in jail when he gets out for falling behind on child support? Or forcing men the court knows is not the father pay child support just because he didn't file his paperwork in a timely matter? When it's for the benefit of the child, fairness gets thrown out the window.

the whole new age feminist movement has killed marriage. any self-respecting man should not marry or be in a long term relationship with a woman unless she is of a socially conservative mindset.
all women are these days are shallow consumerists who want instant gratification and a different flavor of the week. the whole idea of working hard for a longstanding relationship and making sacrifices to do so is out the window. women now cry inequality if they have to compromise even a little.
and they wonder why they're single and men are starting to opt out all together
