We all know by now that JJ will go to A-Town and be the starting PG for the Hawks. That's right the starting PG. Now as I remember it, JJ is about 6-7 and didn't play any PG the past few seasons. We all know that it takes a lot to play PG in the NBA even if your a natural PG. JJ will have to make a transition from SG to PG. I am not saying he can't do it. Who am I to say that? Why would the Hawks do this though? They have tons of guys in the 6-7 to 6-9 range. JJ will be able to post up the smaller PGs he faces, but can he really be an effective one? That's my question. Give me your thoughts guys.

He did a good enough job playing a little PG in relief of Nash during stretches. If the Hawks decide to run the same system as Phoenix (no half court sets and lots of running) he could do well enough, but I don't know that the Hawks have the tools to make that system work. If they try to make him play like a traditional PG he and that team are going to struggle.

Then again, they're the Hawks. Of course they're going to struggle.

Yes, and the same team lost 6 of 10 games

Johnson can play PG. That was his primary position in college.

Nash was the MVP... you aren't going to expect him to give you 10 assists a night.

But yes I think Joe can do a pretty fine job at the pg spot.

I really meant more in terms playing PG for a few minutes a game in relief of Nash, kind of like Manu or Barry did for us. But you are right, he's really not cut out of PG duty, and I don't expect him to do that great.

It'll take him a few years to adjust to a full time PG. He was ok relieving Nash for 5-10min a game at PG, but he ain't no Magic.

Here is my guess at next years avg for JoJo

    PT's - 14
    Ast - 6.5
    Reb - 4.2
    TO's - 2.7

    Is that worth $20mil??

I think JJ will average closer to 20 ppg, because he might be their main offensive threat.

It will be interesting to see him play slightly out of his idea position. He will be fine as long as he doesn't have to play half court too much.

I think JJ will feel the pressure that comes with him being the Hawks primary offensive weapon. He'll see nightly double teams, feel the pressure of justifying the big contract and will be looked to as the only team leader. I see him with the ball in his hands a lot and taking a lot of shots. I believe he'll struggle if he's assigned to cover the traditional quick-fly PGs (Parker, Telfair, JWill).

Bottom line: I don't see him in this position the entire season.
