I would imagine between the recovery and contract that it would be tough to sign him, but I am not sure..
So there isn't much on the internet about his recovery and how it is going. But I do know it has been 7 months since his surgery. He has to be close to being cleared to play again. I was wondering if we still had an eye towards him this year or is he basically just a plan for next year?

Same situation pretty much.
Okay, thanks.
i do know that livio happened later so he is still in rehab. bertans should be pretty close to being released to full contact an play.
Bertans will be evaluated over the summer for sure but I don't see him a spur til 2015
Both players are very interesting as they are 6'9"-6'10" and very long. bertans has a great outside game and charles is an athlete that we lack sorely.
I saw a tweet the other day that Bertans has been cleared to for contact, but won't play a game for a month or so still.
Can't seem to recall who tweeted it though or what day it was

Whatever happened to Ryan Richards?
It's a shame his career could not overlap that of Duncan's.... Bertans plays with young-Ginobli-esque flair (but at 6'9"), and was shooting the deep ball with Dirk-like high release. Who knows how all that will change post injury, but the Spurs could seriously use someone with his unique skill-set (especially now).
Davis Bertans >> Jeff Ayres / Aron Baynes / Matt Bonner
He's regressed big time.
He's doing what players with Richards' at ude do--working himself out of a career.
