I feel bad for Donald Pleasance Boylens, in that it doesn't look good on him, but ultmiately Spurs paying the price. I want Ayres to succeed but just ain't seeing it.

Pop has his little favorites that suck badly and get playtime, this is our newest version of Bogans, Bonner (The one he overplayed) and whoever else he gave time to that was not good.
Pop has seen so much basketball at this point, maybe he only gets excited when he can take a really raw project and make it work throughout the season. That's the only thing I can think of. I never realized how much I appreciated catching passes until Ayres though.
Pop didn't like Blair. He demoted him to the bench two years in a row and Blair spent majority of his time in the doghouse.
I still say Pop's love affair with Bonner was worse. There isn't a Tiago Splitter type of player sitting behind Ayres in the rotation. Baynes is just as ty.

Yeah but he got benched in the 2nd half of the 10-11 season in favor of McDyess and even fell behind Splitter in the rotation in the Grizzlies series when it was already late. Then the following year, he got benched in the 2nd half of the season when Diaw came along. He definitely was put on a short leash for his mistakes which is why he felt so sour about his time here.Pop did love blair for the first few years of his career though.
Bonner, OTOH, choked in the 2010 playoffs and got rewarded with a 4 year extension.
The jury is still out on Ayres since it's still his first year. But he's awful and I don't see why he needs to be played anymore.

Ask around. The one or two fans that own one might pay you to take it.
