Lost Jones (good defender and reliable if streaky 3rd scorer) for a player who did now win with Boston or Dallas and is by many inside sources a "head case". O'Neal may never see the ball now and Wade especially deserves his shots and to be most of the time the primary ball handler - with Walker i see a black hole at times re ball movement. Walker can be a great player but this trade may well blow up as a major mistake.

Only if Walker plays as in first few weeks in Boston last year, and comes in ready to be unselfish inside more than outside player, is this a good trade, otherwise could well be a case of "Cubanitis" revisited.

My prediction of Pacers out of East stands.

    good point.
Isiah Thomas has been the guy I shake my head at all season... bu the Heat organization is quickly knocking him off the crazy throne.

I could see Pacers being 1, 2 or 3 rd seed in the East.. but at this point I aon't predicting anyone as ECF champ.

    BTW- isn't itRx??

    Yes we do.

As for Walker, there's a lot of different takes on it, but I agree with you. Until they start using multiple basketballs in play at the same time, there won't be enough touches for all of these guys.

Talent isn't the only thing that wins championships.. chemistry plays a big part. Miami will be interesting to watch, no doubt. But, to guarantee championships because they picked up this guy? I wouldn't hold my breath.

Got to be the first time the word "Neoplasm" has been used in a thread here....nice!

Pistons are the champs of the East, until someone knocks them off...they remain so.

Miami was 3 mins away from the NBA Finals and now they turned over half of their team.

Sometimes you just have to leave things alone.

Well, yes and no. The Pistons were a game away from making the Finals two years ago, and we dropped our coach and a few key guys, and it took them to the next step.

It's not changes you have to worry about, but making changes just for the sake of making them. Miami knows that Shaq isn't going to be getting any better, so you stack the deck, and let the cards fall where they may. I think it was a good move for them.. if you can teach Walker to pass. Of course, that's kind of like teaching a dog to Moonwalk.

It should be obvious by now that you don't need a team full of stars, if anything that's the last thing you want, you want players who will compliment the best players you have, in this case Shaq and Wade.

This team was one win away from the Finals, and they had injuries.

This team really didn't need any major moves....
