They even cheered when the Wizards missed FT's, really weird
how many of you were at the game??
it looked like a Spurs home game in there wtf???
They even cheered when the Wizards missed FT's, really weird
I heard them booing Gortat
ive never seen anything like that before
Feel bad for the Wizards tbh. ST gets butthurt when the happens at AT&T
That was awesome to watch. I wish the lower section of Spurs home games had half the energy those people tonight showed for the entire game!
well, who goes to wizard's games?
Damn nothing like being down our top four guys, double overtime, and hearing "Go Spurs Go" echoing across the Verizon Center. Epic. When people say to enjoy the journey as much as the destination, nights like tonight show why.
Spurs Nation is everywhere!!!![]()
DC is a huge front runnin' city tbh. Every Wiz home game is like 50/50 opposing teams fans![]()
Could it have something to do with DRob having attended high school in Northern VA and also the Naval Academy in Annapolis, or has it been too long?![]()
That was pretty incredible tbh. So many spurs fans. The GSG chant in the 4th was loudddd on TV.
That dude that had the Brazil flag has to be a member here.
Shirt worthy quote from Sean. I can see it now, lol. We've got the perfect squad for it, u.nited n.ations thugs
I was there. I sat in the 200 level on the opposite side of where the Spurs bench was. There were a ton of Spurs fans behind their bench and also scattered all over.
They were loud when the Wizards shot free throws, several Go Spurs Go chants were going on throughout the game and when the Wizards had the ball there were chants of DEFENSE. Now that was ing hilarious having to listen to weeds behind me booing the people chanting DEFENSE on their home floor.
I've gone to numerous games in D.C over the years when the Spurs visit. The Spurs fans turnout has always been fantastic. It's definitely very much fun to be a part of.
it was a great turn out for spurs fans. love it when the wiz fans were leaving early try to come back to their seat to find spurs fans there..
I was watching the highlights and the entire section behind the Spurs bench was 90% Spurs fans.
Nobody! Trust me I live here and if you go to the games they are only there to cheer for the other team and there is very few diehard Wizards around here. I literally might know one or two fans and believe me alot around here watch bball so they don't have fans really. There is not a ton of Spurs fans either, but I know more Spurs fans than Wizards fans.
That is the way it is at all their home games it seems. They go there to see the other team.
Lot of military,ex-military and government people from the San Antonio area. Nice to see more
and more Spurs fans. The had a lot in N.O. Monday night.
Why can't we have a home crowd like that? I loved seeing all the black Spurs jearseys on the front rows. Much better than our homecrowd snobs holding their beers and checking their facebooks while wearing polo shirts or their "I just got off work" garb.
Can we fly them down from Washington?
While we're on topic I can't think of any other opposing teams city with such a strong Spurs fan congregation.
I live in DC and was at the game last night - sitting in the 200 level right behind the Spurs bench. It's always a great turnout when the Spurs are in town, much more so than any other team (the DRob connection helps - lots of Navy guys here, as does the fact that DC is such a transient city - my wife is one of the few people I know who was actually born and raised here).
For a lot of us, this is our one chance each year to see the Spurs live, so we go all out for it even if it is a Wednesday night and we have work in the morning...
I do go to a lot of Wizards games (simply because I love basketball), and the Spurs fans are always the loudest and most intense of any visiting fans. I was at the Wiz-OKC game last weekend, and there were several OKC fans, but not near as many of them as there were Spurs fans last night. The OKC game actually felt like a home game for the Wizards. Even when teams like the Knicks or Lakers are in town, you see a lot of jerseys, but they don't make much noise.
Bottom line: Spurs fans are the best.
I think I even heard a "go spurs go" chant at one point in the game. Wizards fans then tried to "boo" that chant into oblivion in a metaphorical tug of war![]()
