‘Loud music’ shooter cries about puppy on stand, says he ordered pizza after killing

The Florida man on trial for shooting and killing 17-year-old Jordan Davis over an argument about loud music cried in court on Tuesday when he talked about his puppy.

During the first day of testimony, Michael Dunn told defense attorney Cory Strolla that he had chosen a hotel in Jacksonville for his son’s wedding that was pet friendly because he had a 7-month-old puppy at the time.

“We brought crates, food, things like that specifically for him,” Dunn explained, adding that all of his children were grown but the dog, Charlie, was like a child to him.

When Stolla asked the dog’s name, Dunn’s tears briefly interrupted his testimony as he wiped his face.

“His name is Charlie,” Dunn replied, choking up.

I wonder if his defense attorney asked the jury prospects if they liked dogs.
