    Need a laptop under 400 bucks. I know a little bit but am not educated enough to know if I'm getting a good deal.

    eBay or what? You guys know what would be a solid laptop for under that price point?

    Increase your budget to 500 and get a much better system. I recently bought a Lenovo laptop for my father-in-law, with Intel Core i5 processor, 8 GB RAM, and 1 TB drive for $500. It also had a touch screen monitor and a 720p built-in webcam. Battery life is about 5 hrs, which is just ok. Screen is only 1366x768, which pretty terrible, but, for 500 bills, that's a pretty decent laptop.

    Yeah it's 1080 which it should be for a 23". It's a refurb but I've owned several refurb stuff before with no issues. Lenovo warranty til this time next year plus I've bought from this guy before (way smaller items) and he's solid. He's got a good return policy as well.
