Shannon Sharpe tells TMZ Sports ... he's bummed out after getting the news that he's out at "The NFL Today" pregame show at CBS ... but says, "I'm grateful I had ten great years."
CBS announced the move today ... Shannon and Dan Marino will not return to the show next season. Instead, Tony Gonzalez will join the cast.
"Things happen," Sharpe says ... "They made the best decision for them and now I have to make the best decision for me."
Sharpe is adamant he has "no hard feelings" toward CBS -- adding, "They've been great to me."
As for Tony G -- Sharpe says they're friends and he wishes Tony the best of luck.
"I know Tony wanted to do this so I'm happy for him and his family."
So, what's next for Shannon? He's still trying to evaluate his options, but it's clear you haven't heard the last from the Hall of Fame tight end.

Good. Marino offered nothing and Sharpe occasionally turned Screamin' A Smith in getting his point across.
Sharpe will resurface somewhere--probably on the NFL Network...Marino was a stiff.
Marino totally sucked, good riddance!
Sharpe will be missed and no TG can't replace him and they will be sorry they made the change. Sharpe was a unique, TG is a Mexican.

Given this information I'm finding it incredibly difficult to deduce whether Avante is:
1) Pulling a 'Reverse Fillmoe' - Black guy pretending to be white on the internet
2) Having trouble keeping his racism in the closet. Already an outed gay basher given the Michael Sam thread.
3) Is honestly white, and flowing with white guilt. Explains the deep seated commitment to sports dominated by black athletes sans the quarterback position in American football.
Not sure how you lose Dan Marino and still manage to make the broadcast whiter tbh.
I was that white guy who ran and danced like a black guy. I was that agile, quick and fast white running bacl/kick returner/db/sprinter, that magician on the dance floor. So I simply relate to blacks more because of our similiarities. I dig them old black blues also. I've been told more than once...."too much soul for a white guy".

I worked at a place recently that employed over 600 people, most 30ish with more younger than older, obviously we had a couple gay guys, yep......made fun of.

I find it interesting how any time you get put on blast or have a truth bomb dropped on your ass, you spin the discussion in another direction. I never once co-signed on sexuality. Or slavery. Or domestic violence. Or infidelity. That's all you, little guy. Allow me to clearly explain what my comment meant:
I take absolutely no offense to a man being gay unless he tries to rape me. And it would probably take someone with the strength and athleticism of a professional athlete to stop me from resisting rape. Odds of that, probably one in a billion. So the smart money's on me having no problems with a gay man for the rest of my life.
People like you just can't see that sexuality is uncommon, not abnormal. But if you haven't learned how to gamble correctly in your life, I'm not really expecting you to connect the dots and see that you're being an insecure, weak little with all of this gay bashing.

Let's not get carried away with this ,ok? I have a gay cousin, we get along fine. We don't hang out but when I see him at some family gathering it's cool.
I'm not into getting violent over something as silly as race or sexual preference. I hate smoking but won't be going around knocking cigarettes out of peoples mouths.
