Anti Virus help?

Are there any good, free anti virus programs out there?

Avast Antivir. I cleaned up a client site that was hosed with trojans and virii last week with a tag team of it, Spybot, and Hijackthis.

I used to be mildy annoyed by the fact that Avast didn't have automatic updates, but it works fine in that regard these days.

I have Ad-aware and Yahoo's toolbar for spyware.

I rather use McAfee Antivirus.

mcafee slows down the computer
adware and spybot are not antivirus software
they only take care of spysoftware

1)McAfee is not free and it does not slow down my computer.

2)Adaware is free and does its job in detecting and removing spyware.


I don't recommend SPYBOT for spyware.

have you tried avg compared to mcafeee?
avg takes the less rescources up

is mcafee suppose to be better since you have to pay for it?
I love how amaericans thingk free things do not work as good as paid ones

All I own is Dell.I threw it out there and it has nothing to do with Anti-Virus.

yes it is free if you want the firewall you have to pay for it or get tech support

AVG is awesome. I use it and I'm very happy with it.

If you penetrate the internet you should always use protection.

with cable with avg
you have to go to the control panel of avg
highlight email scanner left click on properties (near the bottom)
click on configure
uncheck use heuristic analyis
in order to send pictures using a email client

I also uncheck it from running a complete scan everyday
you can do that and it still catches a virus when you get one
