Lebron doesn't posess superior intellect so he is sitting at about 95%, that extra sliver being unpolished shooting.
If there is one thing in sports that saddens and sometimes disgusts me is players that finish their careers having left potential on the table.
Here's a list off the top of my head of a few guys and how much of their god given potential they used, based on athletic and intellectual ability. 100% being that they squeezed every ounce of potential out of themselves.
IMO, of course:
Jordan: 100%
Kareem: 100%
Magic: 100%
Bird: 100%
Duncan: 100%
Iverson: 105%
Kobe: 100%
Shaq: 90%
Roy Tarpley: 25%
Len Bias: 0%
LeBron: 80% (and that 80% still might be enough to make him the goat)
Carmelo: 60%
Parker: 90%
Manu: 100%
Derp Howard: 75%
Durant: 99%
Dirk: 100%
Barkley: 100%
Patrick Ewing: 85%
Who am missing that's currently playing, nearing retirement, but has not lived up to full potential?

Shaq should be at around 80-85%.
If he would have learned to shoot freethrows at least around a 70% clip, and hit a 15 foot mid-ranger, he would have been the best player ever without question.
Kobe 99
timmy 100
nowitzki 100
garnett 90
shaq 67
vince 60
Lebron: 100%
Carmelo: 95%
Howard: 90%
Paul: 95%
Griffin: 90%
Odom: 80%
Bynum: 70%
Amare: 85%
Carter: 85%
Shaq: 90%
Durant: 100%
I agree.... I would put Shaq at about 70% and to add to your point if he had any semblance of a work ethic and kept himself in shape....he would be top 3 at the very least of All Time.
I think Westbrook is at like 65%... dude can be the best defensive point guard of the modern era with his physical tools
