    How hilarious would that be?

Imagine the $ they'd throw at him to join.

Pop has an ego and would be an idiot to pass up that kind of $$.

I'm pretty sure you don't fully comprehend what a "lead analyst" actually does for ESPN.

No he won't. He's not a talker. He probably won't be involved with the NBA at all after retirement from coaching.

Nope, Pop will retire to his vineyards just like Sloan retired to his farm. A lot of parallels there except we had Duncan and they had Malone. 4 rings to oh that's right zero.

I'd like to see Pop be the guy that interviews coaches at the beginning of the 4th quarter. Now THAT would be ironic.

However, as many posters have already said, there is no chance Pop goes to TV after he calls it quits with coaching.

I wonder if Pop quitting coaching will end his tenure with the Spurs or will he stay on in the executive role. I'd like to see him here even beyond the coaching days.

Pop would invoke the "3 question rule" with his broadcast partner, leaving the mic silent shortly after the start of the broadcast.

However, I agree it would be worth money to see him do the 3rd quarter coach interviews.

Never happen. He probably retires from coaching eventually only to stay on as president of the Spurs FO.

Didn't see George Karl doing the analyst thing tbqh, so I guess anything is possible. But, I just don't see ESPN wanting Pop's brand of analysis (boring but brilliant). His coarse personality plays well as a schtick for in-game interviews but not as a full time gig imho fwiw.

I was clearly joking..but ESPN will call him. The $$ is too good to pass up. Why do you think ex coaches all go to broadcasting? Cake job that pays more then being an assistant lol

It pays next to nothing. It's like a couple of hundred grand per year which is pennies to someone what like Pop. Last I checked Stephen A Smith makes like $400,000/year with ESPN. You think Pop gives two s about that kind of money?
