"Somebody (in Denver) told me I had a good year," Martin said. "I played terrible. They were like, 'You did?' I was like, 'Yeah.' "
At least he's honest about that, but stupid enough to ignore the main need for his own team (aside from his not sucking).

Owners of multi-owner teams, bickering, challenging each other's decisions on personell moves, taking each other to court. Players publicly trying to dictate personell moves, what friends they want on their team and what players they don't. Ahhh, it's good to be a Spurs fan. Even if you have to listen to other fans constantly whining about salary cap moves and how the ownership is screwing up.

Nuggets will never win it all, they will be a potentially great team ala Portland a few years back that self destructs and Karl ways will get old.

    Mark it down!

edit; demarr johnson sucks. He is really tall, but other than that his numbers STINK. Why would they not want finley over this stiff?

He shoots a high percentage, and not very often. He rebounds fairly poorly for a guy that is 6'9, around 2 rpg at 20 mpg.

Maybe they dont' want to have to share the rock with a shooter, they think their numbers will go down?!

    selfish idiots.

I think Johnson could make a pretty good bench player for the Spurs. He doesn't suck; like you said, he does shoot a high percentage, and the reason he doesn't shoot more should be apparent when you consider who his teammates are. I'm not saying that the Nuggets shouldn't pursue Finley, and I can't defend his rebounding, but he's a good player for what they were paying him last year.

Johnson isnt a must have player. There's only about 20 of him in the NBA.

I don't think we should rush to find a long 3 just for the sake of having a long 3. Johnson may fit the mold physically, but his head isn't there. Too much baggage. I'll pass.

They (Martin and Melo) do have a good point. You need to keep a team's nucleus together for a couple years to be an elite team. There are a lot of teams making major changes (e.g., Heat), and you would think it would take a couple years to see a le out of any of it.

im pretty sure kiki and stan make the decisions and sign the checks, not melo and kmart. if we did get finley (which will be tough since like 10 teams want him) they would get over it pretty quick.

Unbelievable immaturity. DJ's signing and Finley's availability are two different issues, and to publicly diss a player who could help your team to push the signing of your homey is just ludicrous. Of course, this should be no huge surprise, since neither player has shown much, if anything in the way of maturity before.

you act like he insulted his momma. he said he wanted to keep the team together - our chemistry was great last year. why mess it up? granted id like finley on the team but i took his comments are respectful and an excellent sign of team unity. plus dj and him are long time buds from cincy.

    nothing immature there.

Good coaches have a vision of how their team should play, what pieces are needed and fit and what aren't. If Melo and Martin had concerns, thoughts, opinions thaey should have expressed them to the coach in private and let it go at that. After all it's the coaches ass that's on the line, just ask Bzedelik and Cooper.

whcih is why george karl, kiki and stan kroenke will sign the players, play the players and pay the players (but not in that order). not melo and kmart.

i trust them to do their jobs and let melo and kmart take care of their job ON the court.

They probably shouldn't have expressed their opinions in the press, but oh well. It's not that big of a deal. I can see them wanting to keep their core intact. But not wanting to add a few necessary role players to attempt to get better isn't very smart.

Are the Nuggets still trying to trade Nene?

You took this statement as respectful?
"If he gets another offer, that's great, but I want to see him with us. . . . Nothing against Michael Finley, but [Johnson] can play."
Either he totally dissed Finley there, or he has trouble formulating a verbal sentence, and should probably shut up.

That's a low down diss. I'm sure Finley and his agent have already decided that Denver isn't the "ideal" place to go after this.

dude, he said NOTHING against finley and then complemented his long time friend, whom he wants to return. sorry but that is not disrespecful no matter how you spin it.

I'm just not cool on players making thier personal opinions and preferances about trades and signings invloving other players open to the public.
they arn;'t management. If they have somethign to say to management then say it to them and not the world.

You don;t see Timmy telling WOAI that shopping Rasho is a bad idea (not saying thats what he thinks- just aand example)... it just "looks" bad.. nad as a fan it leaves a bad flavor i nmy mouth about the team and it's relationship dynamics. management. coaches, players.

    know what I mean?
