I got to see the airport and the hotel-- ING lame...I kissed the tarmac when we landed though, oil and jet fuel be damned...I was in the Fatherland. We were there for not even 14 hrs and it was at the end of a 29 hour flight: Curacao-Miami-Teterboro-Goose Bay-Iceland-Frankfurt

On a positive note I deploy in 11 days. They tried to have me go on the 20th but that's a little too-short notice imo. Gotta get another PPD screen, get dental work, and 47 vaccinations + a 180-day Doxycycline Rx.

I badly wanna visit that region b/c of my WWI fetish (especially Caporetto, the Isonzo, etc)...but I think I'm gonna stick with France/Belgium/Holland on my first vacay. Another time, perhaps.

TGM, it's more like 7-10 vacs, but that's a load nonetheless--and it doesn't halp that I've lost my childhood MMR and DTP do entation.

Contact your old school district, you won't believe how much info they still have about you. But you'd probably run out of time before they could get it to you.

Speaking of school districts, I dated a doctor for about a year whose dad was the superintendent of the Paterson school district. They were so stereotypically New Jersey it was hilarious---but every person I have met from there since then has been like that too
