fishers shot brings a smile to my face

i watched this year's dvd for the umpteenth time today and realized that winning it all still hasn't made up for that shot. i figured it would be the first thing on the dvd, but i didn't see the actual shot when it actually happened. after watching all the celebration and stuff after tim's shot, i find myself really wishing they had won it that year and mad at having to look at fisher's shot again.

I am pissed about that shot because of Fisher and the Lakers running out of the gym as quickly as they can to make sure they don't review or change their mind. I hate that Lakers team. It should be .7 because the clock didn't start on time thanks to a slow reaction on the clock keeper.
well maybe it wouldn't piss me off so much if people would stop bringing it up.......... hint hint![]()
This often brings a smile to my face.

Who's to say the Spurs would have gone on and won?
Thats one thing i dont like about the spurs, the way they can 1 minute absolutely dominate, make u think the opponent has no chance, then lose or get blown after.
The lakers series we had 2-0 , and not just a any 2-0 lead, it seemed that series was
gonna go 4 or 5 games max, but look wat happened. Same thing seattle this year, 2 blowouts for a 2-0, almost lose that series. The finals another example. Its almost like they wanna show their dominance early , then they go into cruise mode or something.
Thats why people say we have no killer instinct, we cant seem to crush people after we've got them down and almost out
At least the Pistons beat the Lakers. I am glad Malone went out ringless.![]()
No.
Sports is about the good and the bad. The highs and the lows. The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat. That is what makes it fun and interesting.
Yah, it still pisess me off. And it pisess me off that every other week someone asks that question.
of course.
it was total BS.
if i think on it too long ... i still want to punch something.![]()
Yeah, yes it does.
Championships since .4:
San Antonio 1
Los Angeles 0
'nuff said.
Well, they would have been up 3-1 (I think?) and it would have been a different series. Totally different.
Actually, at one time it was an unofficial rule among the refs (or maybe some announcer came up with that) that you couldn't get a shot off ( unless it was a tip in) in under .5 seconds. It was impossible for him to catch and shoot the way he did in .4 seconds. That is what they called home court advantage.
It wouldve been 3-2, and also it was on the Spurs homecourt, so there wasn't much of an advantage.
Nope. What pissed me off was the way we we played the first 3 quarters of that game. We didn't deserve to win and I am not so sure we would have beaten them in 7 games. Somewhere in Los Angeles we lost our way. LA wanted it more than we did. They were humiliated in games 1 and 2 and responded by kicking our asses in 4 straight games. If we had won that game, we would have went back to LA up 3-2. Instead, LA went on to crack the team with the best record in the league in 6 games too. They were the better team in '03.
Detroit exposed them and played hungrier than the Lakers. LA reverted back to playing lazy defense and playing selfishly.
i got da shirt if anyone wants it. i bought 2 of em
no doubt, ing clock started late.
Looking back on the contrast that came from going from such a HIGH point...to such a low point...in such an impossible amount of time...will always sting a bit. I'll never forget how pissed I was after Fisher made that shot. Probably will forever rank as the worst moment of being a Spurs fan for me. (At least, we can only hope)
However, I said if the Spurs came back and played like champions this year, then they would redeem themselves. And they did. So currently, no. You could say I'm over it now.
It was a tough lesson to learn, but you can be damn sure the Spurs will never think a game is over until the clock reaches 00:00.0
And yes, even though I wasn't completely against the whole Malone to SA thing, this little fact still makes me happy. Especially since we got ours without him, and you know he's got to be kicking himself for it now.At least the Pistons beat the Lakers. I am glad Malone went out ringless.
some of you people continue to about the fact that the clock started late on that possession. Folks when tim duncans shot cleared the net there should have been .8 on the shotclock so the argument that the clock started late and took him .7 to get the shot off is just a cry baby excuse. Get the over it your team lost that series, they had every opportunity to win.
On the other hand your team came back from that shot and dissapointment and won themselves a le. Hats off to them, but some of you just n whine waaaaaaaaaaaaay to much and are begining to sound like kings fans.
