BD was bit by a spider last night. It's usually at this time of year that those mother ers start appearing on the premises. It's gotten worse over the day. I'll probably pay a visit to the family doctor in the morning hours.

You ain't gonna die son, Black Widows rarely inject enough venom to kill a grown man. If it was a brown recluse then you may have to worry about a reaction but that would take days to really get going. There are no other spiders in north america that can kill you. Go to the Dr though, I don't wanna be responsible for your death.

Probably a brown recluse or black widow....brown recluse bites heal just fine without any medical intervention or first aid. If you see it happen or suspect that you were bitten, the recommended treatment is to use RICE (rest, ice, compression and elevation). Wrap the area of the bite with a compression bandage, use ice on it and elevate it....in cases where a boil has developed it is recommended you see a doctor and see if it can be treated with antibiotics...

The bite is on my forearm. The affected area shows every prerequisite for the formation of a boil. It's sensitive to the touch. There is a throbbing phase that lasts about 5 minutes which has slowly intensified every hour.

Brown recluse can also cause necrosis and require a doctor to remove the surrounding tissue.
Leaving a hole and permanent scar Dr. Nb. I have seen the scars left in legs. Go to a doctor.

    real talk.

i've had a spider bite for like 14 months, near my tricep, and it's still there. I've shown it to my primary but she think it's scar tissue at this point. it's basically hard but occasionally I'll squeeze it and blood when come out. does that sound like a brown recluse? I can still see a couple bite marks but damn the thing has basically been there for over a year. initially the entire area was red and swollen, now it's more like a cyst. maybe I should just take it to a dermatologist.

You really should see a doctor. Many times staph infections get mistaken for spider bites. If there is not a noticeable dent in the top of the bump (like a volcano) it's probably a staph infection. With all the antibiotic resistant staphs out there it's nothing to with. Google MRSA.

sucks i had a fishing hook run through my finger when we hit big on a school of sand trout that were popping. bas trout was still popping when i tried to get the hook out.

two years later my finger developed staph and swelled up so when i lacerated it in the kitchen a spec of metal popped off. was still lodged in my finger after all that time.

Stuck a mesquite thorn in the first knuckle (palm side) on my right hand ring finger when I was about 10. Hurt like for a few months, finally closed up with scar tissue you can still see today. 15 years later the tip of the thorn came out of the back of my finger over an inch away from where it went in.

    Uhhh..

Am I sure? I was not bitten.

Just know what I have seen from others. Two cousins and an aunt with scars. Necrotic tissue can get infected. Recluse is no joke to some people. Bee stings are minor league to me, but not to people who swell up like a balloon.
