Quite long article on Kawhi improvements since his rookie year

thanks for the heads up... good read
Yeah I liked it, writer puts some work on it
Surprisingly good article, tbh..
CBS usually sucks, especially re: NBA..
CBS is indeed usually ty, their game tracker sucks and articles are not very worked but recently it's getting better. I check once in a while and I found that article that is one of the longest I saw on dat site.
CBS' Eye on Basketball Blog is actually good. I like their nutty writer Matt Moore's writeups.
you're telling me.
i've noticed quite a few articles with numerous spelling errors, player discrepancies, etc
Good article.
Talent plus coaching plus work ethic.
Kawhi development is a clear demonstration of the Spurs coaches talent. You can see that when a kid is eager to learn and to work, Spurs environment is among the best in the league for a raw young player.
Parker, Green on top of my head are also perfect examples of that
Good article. Thanks for posting.
And the amazing thing is we got this top-15 player by trading away George Hill. Now, I liked George Hill a LOT, but we definitely got a WIN out of that trade.
not only that but Davis Bertan could end up being better than George Hill too.
another great article http://hardwoodparoxysm.com/2014/04/...medium=twitter
That was a good read. Thanks.
Damn...K2s got some big muddafuggin' paws!
You might also add some players for other teams that worked hard to improve while on the Spurs and have survived or thrived on other teams. George Hill comes to mind.
That was a long article to just say well Kawhi stepped up big time in 2014....
I thought it offered some good insight into how Kawhi's game has evolved.
I especially liked this bit:
Steve Kerr aptly summed up those differing strategies while recalling a pre-game conversation with Popovich.
“Kawhi felt like when they called his number early in the season, he was the one who had to score,” Kerr said. “What Pop explained [to Leonard] is that when they call a play for him, it’s actually for the team.”
Good reads. Thanks!
“Kawhi felt like when they called his number early in the season, he was the one who had to score,” Kerr said. “What Pop explained [to Leonard] is that when they call a play for him, it’s actually for the team.”This may explain the several threads on ST about touches, shooting, mentality, and more.Players on championship caliber teams sacrifice touches, minutes, notoriety, and sometimes even development to reach the goals of the greater good. It’s clear that a player of Leonard’s caliber could merit more of the former-most aspects in a different situation; what isn’t so obvious is whether or not the latter has been compromised as a result
There is not a particular model for player development, but certainly Pop always has created opportunities that maximize his players strengths.
