Sorry, TE. If Bruno is not going to show up, that's fine. If Timvp wants to walk through the desert to search for the meaning of life, that's fine too. I don't care whatsoever for the fact that I am a lowly GNSF who has been a member for six years because quite frankly it doesn't matter at this point in time what your status or credentials are or how many spurs you have. Judging from the countless meltdown threads, it seems that about half of us are just about ready to jump off that proverbial cliff. I believe that this game thread should be started by a "commoner" who very much has absolute faith that the Spurs will find a way and use that way to ride on to the second round. Anybody who wishes to deride this game thread or me personally, go right ahead as long it compels you to share the same level of faith that I, along with the rest of the half of us who still believe, possess. If you still don't give them one last chance, then to with you and your moronic tl;dr's. Probably the only poster I would be glad to allow to start a new game thread would be No Limit.

About this team we love so dearly, I would say it's already well known that Pop has an ugly tendency that involves him panicking at almost the first sign of trouble, so I can only hope he would just stop with these silly new rotations and stick to what gave him 62 wins in the first place. But what really worries me is what Pop said before Game 3 concerning Tony. I don't remember what he said exactly but involved Pop's encouraging of Parker taking at least 25 shots as some sort of Plan A. I'll say what at least a few others are thinking and that is that both Duncan and Leonard need to lead this team to the promised land. If it's Parker that is in the driver's seat, it would make this playoff run exponentially tougher. While I wouldn't dare question his scoring skill, I am really disappointed with his role as a facilitator. Instead of sharing the ball with his teammates to find the open man on practically every play, it seems he only does that a third of the time being on the court and the rest of the time he just overdribbles and waits until the shot clock is almost over so he can force a shot of his own like the Nealish ballhogging heroballer that he often embodies. Nevertheless, I know he is capable of producing much more than a measly six assists. Right after tipoff, Timmy and KL have to set the tone that will determine and dictate the tempo of the game. If they can do that plus Green putting in at least a slightly larger contribution, namely guarding Ellis, the Spurs can very well win three straight games against Cuban's missiles and make it to the next part of the slope.

That's really what it basically is: the playoff run = climbing an Everestian mountain. It's already difficult at the base of the mountain (Mavs) and it will only get even more difficult after each step (POR/HOU, LAC/OKC, MIA). It's simply a matter of how much and how badly this team wants to get to the very peak of the mountain. Forget Pop, Tony and even Manu, but think of Timmy and imagine how badly he wants to win his fifth to effectively redeem himself for what happened last year. For a man who has an incredible heart and will, he sure as does not deserve to go out in the first round. Not like this. I am supremely confident his determination will resonate through to his teammates. They know they have a bit more firepower in their arsenal.

The climb starts Monday night at 8:30.

I know spurfan is going suicidal right now but if you win this game its 2-2 with Spurs having 2 out of 3 home games
Dallas needed a miracle play to win

at this point its really only Pop and his terrible rotations that are holding the team back
their bench came down to earth even though they were playing at home while ours stepped up a little

the starters have all played great also outplaying their starters significantly

Parker needs to stop pulling second half disappearing acts and we can win this easily
it seems like every game he drops 15+ in the first quarter than less than 5 points the rest of the way

one thing to exploit is the Parker/Leonard pick and roll
it gave them a lot of trouble and generated jumpshots close to the basket since it usually switches a terrible defensive guard like Ellis/Calderon onto Parker
they also know now that Leonard will get doubled teamed everytime he gets a post touch and have to space the floor appropriately and have a good 3 point shooter like Marco make the strong side pass instead of Parker

also hoping Pop doesnt make panic rotations again
Bonner should never play and Parker should be playing 40 minutes and key minutes in the 4th not Patty

My thoughts exactly. How many times can Vinsanity make that circus shot in a row?

Given the way it is now, I consider this season and playoff a success if Spurs somehow managed to get to WCF.

Losing to OKC/Clippers is nothing to be ashamed about.

Is there a certain limit-of-days-before-a-game rule of which I am not aware?

At some point that house money has to be exhausted tbh (they have to stop making almost every shot they throw up - *cough*cough I'm looking at you Calderon)

They're pro players, when you're left wide open you're gonna make shots.
