    (Donald Sterling - MY BAD)
I am somewhat surprised that we've had 40 comments on the Spurs' Game 4 adjustments in 3 hours, I would have thought a social forum would have more social commentary. Of course, this is unprecedented. This must be a catalyst for change. I think Sterling has been tolerated for way too long. The expanded audio of his comments is even more sickening, he thinks he is giving his black people cars, houses, food... He seems demented to me. I know he will sue, but does anybody know if the NBA bylaws allow other owners to flt force an owner out that is deemed unfit? I cant believe I'm saying this, but I look forward to Mark Cuban's comments on this. I wonder if the atmosphere at Staples Center is going to be so bad that it disrupts the game. Should it? If all people of color, and all people who support people of color simply and peacefully went onto the court and sat and refused to leave, it would be one of a statement, and I think it would force Sterling out, and FAST. Despite Doc Rivers' and Chris Paul's protest otherwise, is this bigger than the game? Can the Clippers even win a le with this distraction? Would Muhummad Ali play? Jalen Rose made it clear today he wouldn't. I think maybe the truth about whether or not Sterling made those comments on audio is causing a delay, but if indeed it is proven (or he admits it) what happens then?

I think the players ought to show up for the game at Staples and then ask the fans why they are paying for tickets to line this guy's pockets.

The comments that were reported today were far worse, imo, than the original ones. If the guy actually believes that he is not engaged in an economic arrangement with the team players by which he exchanges currency for their talent level on the basketball court, and actually believes that he "gives them food, gives them clothes, gives them cars and gives them houses" then he should be shouted down by every damn fan of every team in the nba.

I don't know if the nba can do anything, because I don't know if this is a First amendment (free speech) issue. But I imagine that the fear of a suit by Sterling is one of the reasons that the nba is trying to be super-careful about whatever it is they try to do.

The league definitely can do something. They're not worried about a lawsuit, the owners are worried about setting a precedent where they can be held accountable to the players.

I propose that Silver step in and have the rest of the games for this series played in Oakland.

As a black man I wouldn't go anywhere near that arena. If I was a player I wouldn't show up, plain and simple.

Donald Sterling has been known to be a racist for a long time, tbh..

All the Clippers players and coaches that chose to join the organization already knew what they were signing up for when they joined the team..Doc Rivers knew where he was going when he quit on the Celtics..Chris Paul and Blake Griffin are committed to being Clippers for a long time, they both already knew Sterling's reputation..

Realistically, none of them truly care, as long as they're getting their million dollar checks, but now they have to make it appear like they actually give a ..

In the grand scheme of things, I think people are crying a little too much. In the last few months, we've had athletes literally punch out their ing wife in an elevator and another one claim he had a bomb at an airport. If you want to get mad at people in sports, THAT'S the stuff that should annoy you. Just my 2 cents.

lol @ people still holding white people to such high standards and black people to such low standards, tbh, that's the real racism here

Every player on the Clippers roster is an Uncle Tom, tbh, especially Doc Rivers, Chris Paul and Danny Granger..

These players chose to sign with a proven racist so they can make millions of dollars, and now they're pretending to be outraged because of a tape that revealed something they already knew..

I ing hate the Clippers, tbh(minus CN)..

If I found out MY boss was a flaming racist and it made my employment unbearable, I would find another job, then quit, then give him a piece of my mind. If I knew a prospective employer was a racist, I would not work for them. If he was racist but the workplace was still run in a professional manner and there was no overt discrimination, I would deal with it and do my job. After all, everyone's en led to an opinion in a free country right?

It's a little hypocritical to take money from someone (especially if it's millions of dollars!) while protesting their stance on race . IMO.

I know we've all heard for a long time that Sterling was a racist, but you know, with EVERYTHING else equal, I would probably give a job to a black man over a white man, just because, you know? It seems logical in nature to have a little bias to your own. However, that doesn't imply hate. But the comments Sterling made - that is hate. I can understand racial bias - that is only natural. But to not want black people coming to his arena? Are you kidding me? And to state that he's GIVING cars, food, houses to his negroes - not that they're EARNING it, but that he's GIVING it to them - I didn't know THAT was the type of racism people were talking about with Sterling. How the does he even want to be an NBA owner? There are other, less...uh...ethnic things that he can be involved with.

Sterling can't be an owner anymore. If he comes to a game, somebody is probably going to clock him in the head with a Duracell AA battery. Which would be a waste of a battery, energy is a terrible thing to waste.

Kind of hard to formulate an opinion until we get all the facts and not the initial report from a tabloid. Not saying the guy is clean as he obviously has a history of saying racist things according to some reports I've read. But there is a lot going on in this story and I think all the facts must come out before reaching a conclusion on a punishment.

One thing for sure in this age of smart phones you must guard what you say at all times. That said, those comments probably aren't stream of conscious remarks. Most non racists don't talk that way.

I hear you, c98, and that was my initial reaction, but once I heard both the original comments and then the expanded comments I find practically impossible to find ANY context under which those statements would be remotely acceptable. And Sterling has NOT initiate a press conference in which he denies that it is his voice.

Philadelphia style? They used to throw batteries at players back in the day
