I never understood what pogs were for. Were they like baseball cards, for trading, or what?

Yeah you stack how many you are willing to bet and the other has to match you, then you use a "slammer", which was sort of like a heavier sort of pog (usually plastic, unless you had a metal one, and I even saw a coup of wooden ones), and slamed it on top of the stack of pogs and whichever ones landed upsidedown...or was it right side up???.... you kept. Alot of kids started crying b/c they would lose their pogs, or their parents would get pissed b/c kids would come home with like half, if not, all of the pogs they bought missing so they complained, thus ruining the pog phenomenom...

They were like 10 cents each!!! But I know what you mean alot of kids had like 7 or 8 "pog containers" which held about 4 or 5 hundred each....and the rich kids could always buy the expensive metal slammers.

damn, I remember in 'ville we would have pog wars before 7th grade athletics. The kids with the metal slammers were the Kings. I had a ninja star slammer, and I would tear those ing pogs up.
