Wade also said he considers O'Neal "like a father".
"He's part of the family. We have a father and son relationship," Wade said. "We get along really well. With me he doesn't have the problems he had with the other guy," he added, clearly referring to Los Angeles Lakers guard and former O'Neal teammate Kobe Bryant.

I'd like to see that interview. I wonder what Wade sounds like with Shaq's nuts in his mouth.
Kobe might actually be the biological father of the Lakers' future at center.
... and in other news Kobe confesses "I'm Shaq's ".
I don't think Wade isn't sincere....Shaq's presence on that team has really helped him come out.
I've read a lot from him this last season that pretty much says the same thing, and how Shaq has been a great mentor for him...he's not the egomaniac that Kobe is...he's a good kid.
Don't hate.![]()
I'm not hating. In fact, I'm not much of a Kobe fan. It's just when a grown man calls another his "Daddy", those are powerful and passionate words. He can say like, we're best friends, we have an older brother younger brother relationship, we homies, that's my dawg, but not he mah daddy?
Here's the whole article.
SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic (AP) - Dwayne Wade if looking forward to an NBA championship. He also wants to shoot more. The Miami Heat guard thinks he can achieve both goals with his newest teammates.
The addition of Antoine Walker and Jason Williams in a five-team, 13-player deal -the largest in NBA history- will make Miami a le contender next season, Wade said Tuesday in a press conference in the Dominican capital, where he is on vacation.
Wade said Williams, the mercurial point guard acquired from the Memphis Grizzlies, will take care of the ball-handling duties, leaving the shooting to the third year star from Marquette.
"With these guys we're already thinking about the championship. Walker will be an excellent third offensive option and Williams will let me shoot the ball more, because he'll have the responsibility to be the point guard," said Wade.
Miami also received small forward James Posey and forward Andre Emmett in the megatrade, with swingman Eddie Jones, and forwards Rasual Butler and Qyntel Woods leaving the team.
The Heat lost game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals against the Detroit Pistons, with Wade hampered by a bruised rib muscle and center Shaquille O'Neal hobbled by a thigh injury.
In his second season in the NBA, Wade averaged a team-best 24.1 points and 6.8 assists.
He didn't say those words. He said they have a father-son relationship - players say that all the time.but not he mah daddy?
Not really much of a vacation if he's doing press conferences, is it?
Say what you want about Shaq, but with the notable exception of Kobe, people like playing with the guy.
Eddie Jones, Anfernee Hardaway and Mitch Richmond comes to mind.
"press conferences"
... running your mouth isn't hard work.
I give Wade 2 years before his "relationship" with Shaq goes down the tubes. See: Kobe, Hardaway...
maybe when they're talking about their coach. But another player???? when did anyone else ever said that?
although I don't think it has ever been said. I would think that Timmy and DRob had a father/som type relationship... or at least a wise uncle/eager nephew relationship........ maybe master/young grasshopper?
He also wants to shoot more. The Miami Heat guard thinks he can achieve both goals with his newest teammates....
The addition of Antoine Walker...![]()
Maybe the word "mentor" just didn't pop into his head at that moment.
Is DRob the one who taught Timmy to levitate?
And is that dude checking out Tim's butt? Not that I blame him, but...
