Spurs wanted to win in front of their fans, and they wanted to spare the Blazers the humiliation of a sweep.

They did not try hard last game, they knew after the three games they won big this was not comp at all. They threw a game and did not try hard, shots started to fall and oh well we got them next.

More $$$ for Holt + rest not rust = Spurs didn't give a about Game 4.

This series was a total mismatch. Portland got schooled.

The Spurs mailed it in for Game 4 so they could close it out in front of their home crowd.

scary to think there's actual validity to us fans' long held claim of Spurs tanking playoff games...

that being said it makes complete sense.

If we lost up 3-0 this board would shut down permanently after 6.

after watching Clippers tie the series on Sunday, I think it makes sense. A week and a half w/o games is too much in the middle of playoffs imho. Now they have 5 to 7 days of rest which is ideal. Let's hope TP is OK.

TP is fine, and they're getting an ideal amount of rest. A week if LA can force a Game 7 and rough OKC up a little more.

So..to keep the theme going, is Parkers injury fake, in order to throw off the next opponent?

Yeah, why not? If they were pulling this kind of move they would be alternately pissing off the opponent or psyching the out of them. Where is the downside since they won the game?

We just didn't try. Baynes came in REALLY early when we were down 6...Pop gave us no chance to win that game with all the weird line-ups. Complete give-away game. Seriously.

Like I didn't even feel we played hard at all. We were so clearly better that it was almost as if the Spurs felt pity for the Blazers and decided to give them 1. It's okay, it happens. Hard to continue dominating an inferior opponent time and again without a little drop off in your own play along the way. Sometimes you need to lose to just get re-focused.

It is natural to have a letdown when you are up 3-0 though. Sometimes we forget the other guys are professionals too.

$2-3 mil per home game after 1st round (with ticket, concessions, & TV Rev). Patty certainly did earn his salary last night.

In 2012, the Spurs didn't have their 7th home playoff game until they lost game 5 of the WCFs to OKC. They've already had 7 this year.

If Tim checks out after this season, the season ticket sales could slump. Get it while the gettin' is good I guess.
