I haven't heard a thing about Mourning. I am pretty sure he only signed on to play one year with Miami and ESPN's Miami roster does not have him on it. Miami has recently drafted Simien, traded for Walker, resigned Haslem, signed Barron, and is considering Grant. That is a pretty loaded front court when you add in Shaq and Doleac. Would people consider Mourning for the Vet Min. to fill in the minutes behind Nazr, Nes, Dun, Obe, and Hor? We could keep the mins of Horry and Mourning down during the season and he could be insurance if Oberto doesn't pan out the way we thought or we get rid of Nesterovic. Just a thought.

My fault, I missed that the Heat picked up his option. Sorry about wasting space. I guess miami wants a crowded front court.

Mourning has said that he's staying in Miami.

If he ever came to SA, I may have to stop being a Spurs fan. I can't stand the guy....for me, he's like what Karl Malone is to some people.

I agree with 1P1, Mourning destroyed two teams (NJ and Toronto) financially, and refused to stay with the Heat after what the franchise did for him during his kidney treatment. Pure classless.

Exactly. Except I think you mean the Nets.

Also, I hate the way he flexes his muscles or whatever after he dunks or blocks a shot. .

I admire him for making it through the kidney treatment while still being strong enough to play basketball, but he seems like a real jackass.

No, I meant Miami. He signed this huge $120 million deal with Miami, had his kidney ailment, Miami gave him their full support, and when Mourning was done with his treatment, he signed with NJ for that deal, for which he weaseled out and screwed Toronto. Come to think of it, NJ was the franchise least hurt by Mourning.

I put Mourning in the same class I put Jimmy Jackson in. Guys who deserve a kick in the nuts. JJ didn't want to play in New Orleans when he was traded there by H-Town. Why? Because they are a sorry franchise. I understand. I would hate to play for a team that is one of the worst. However, you're getting paid millions. Not 30 or 40 grand. Millions. The possibility of being traded is part of the NBA. I don't think its right for a player to refuse to play for a team he has been traded to. That is selfish. Plain and simple. Hundreds of thousands of people would love to get paid to play ball for a living. Stay in the best hotels and get the best in life no matter what team they're playing for. I think the NBA needs to fix this crap. Mounring did the same. He wanted to play for the Nets so bad because of Kidd. Then what? They traded K-Mart and RJ got hurt. Now all of sudden, you're unhappy and don't want to be there. So, you get traded to Toronto. Now, Zo decides not to show and demands to be released. He gets his wish and ends up signing with Miami. That is so freakin' selfish. There are many of us who would love to ride the bench in the NBA and get paid and these guys whine about where they have been traded to??? That's wrong. If I were in charge of the NBA I would make up a rule saying if you don't play for the team you have been dealt to, you don't play for the remainder of season and don't get paid. The contract is voided and you will have to wait until the next season to sign a new contract from another team. If they only knew how good they have it.

"I hate the way he flexes his muscles."

Epitomizes what an asshole meathead he is. OK for a 15-year old jerkoff on the playgrounds, but not for a 35-year old veteran in the NBA.

I was so happy when they failed to make it to the Finals. I love Dwayne Wade and the way he competes. He leaves it all out on the floor, but Zo is a joke. I'm glad he got a kidney, but quit flexing. That's one guy I don't want to see with a ring. I know that sounds mean, but he is selfish.
