Memphis is an awful team that needed to be disassembled. I thought they had a decent coach, though. I can't imagine them trading Joerger unless they have some other coach in mind.

How are they an "awful team"? Injuries were the main reason they were the 8th seed and got a terrible draw for the first round.... what they need are shooters, tbh, a broken-down Mike Miller isn't going to cut it on his own...

Memphis' bigger problem, though, is that their new owner appears to be a Jerry Jones/Jim Dolan type who knows jack about the sport but demands to have the loudest say in everything related to the on-court product and is constantly firing people for no apparent reason....

They have no wings of any note besides perhaps Tony Allen. Their best offensive player is getting old, and their second-best offensive player is a point-guard who's already reached his ceiling and who chokes way too often (and I like Conley a lot). Koufus is their best bench player, when he should be their third. Their best scoring wing lives off inefficient mid-range jumpers. They still give Tayshaun Prince big minutes.

You're right that they could add some good shooters and dramatically improve their offensive production. But they can't do that, since they gave out what were essentially two max deals to Gasol and Randolph and another huge one to Conley. They have $20 Million already sunk into their (dud) wings next year, to go along with $34 Million in their starting front-court (not counting SF). The player they have with the most potential is one they'll probably have to let walk since they can't afford to pay him anything substantial.

I don't see them as a team that can be supplemented. They can't get better unless they blow it up and reconstruct. As of now, they are on major decline. They're an old version of the Pacers, except at least Indiana has hope that George and Stephenson (Turner) can continue to develop.

Memphis is not a le contender but "awful" is such a re ed adjective for a team that won 50 games despite missing their best player for large stretches. Everything on this forum is like hyperbole played to a volume level of 10 at times

Memphis needs to package Zbo and Lee, only way they're dumping that salary... and I'm not even sure there would be takers for that. They should try to get back a decent PF and a high scoring SG... Allen can be the starter in that situation... Tay needs to be dumped too... maybe for younger talent and picks... his contract isn't that horrible, tbh...

Maybe not awful, but defiantly mediocre. They've been one of the lucky teams when it comes to the playoffs, injuries to opposing teams star players being a big part of their playoff success, as well as an overrated & soft Clipper team. Still impressive for them to reach the playoffs in the west & have the success they do considering how awful the talent level is at the wings.

complaining about hyperbole, but using hyperbolic terms like "re ed" to describe it.

That's hyperbolic. You don't have to apologize for it. Just don't act like you're above exaggeration.

    Surprised no one mentioned this

Memphis went from letting him interview to apparently giving him a 2 year extension so he's staying in Memphis.

The stories about Memphis's owner are pretty outrageous, tbh..

Reportedly, some of the reasons he wanted to fire Joeger include:

    - He wouldn't allow him to play 1-on-1 vs. Tony Allen
    - He refused to wear a NFL-like coaching headset on the sidelines
    - He didn't want to give Mike Miller a pseudo player-coach role
