Now if we can end that 9 game losing streak up there in, that'd be greattt,
This is a milestone, tbh.
Biggest surprise of the night tbh.
The Brothers streak was overblown. They hadn't lost in a while, but Brothers had also not called any OKC road playoff games since the 2012 Finals. I'm pretty sure they've now lost their last 3 playoff road games with Brothers -- Game 5 of the 2014 WCF at SA; Game 3 of the 2012 Finals at Miami; and Game 2 of the 2012 WCF at San Antonio.
Also interesting: OKC is now 1-7 in road playoff games called by Monty McCutchen.
brothers aint bout this series
Where do you get that info?
I'm curious as well - not that I'm questioning it's validity, but those are some deep and interesting stats.
My own collected information.
Any guesses on who works Game 6 in OKC with Foster/Callahan/Philipps working tonight's Heat game? I'm hoping for Joey on the road tbh.
Danny Crawford seems almost certain to have Game 6.
Damn, we have a Donaghy whistleblower in our midst...
Oh mighty one who knows all of this stuff... I assume Brothers is likely to work the finals as well? Which refs in the conference finals are likely to not work the finals?
We just had Joey for Game 4.
Given some past trends, I think Danny Crawford and James Capers will have Game 6 (it makes sense to me that Marc Davis would be in the mix to be their third, though I think it's possible the third is Ed Malloy).
The only other possibility that seems to make sense at this point is that Ken Mauer has Game 6 (likely with Ed Malloy).
I'm backing off of my "almost certainly" on Danny Crawford a little bit just because, in taking another look at the schedule, the consequence of assigning him to Game 6 of this series would be that he wouldn't be available to work a Game 7 in either series (most likely), since he's unlikely to work back-to-back nights (which he'd have to do to work Game 6 of SA/OKC and Game 7 of MIA/IND) and unlikely to work back-to-back games of the same series (which hasn't happened, as far as I know, in more than a generation).
I think the Finals officials are likely:
1. Danny Crawford (crew chief)
2. Joey Crawford (crew chief)
3. Scott Foster (crew chief)
4. Monty McCutchen (crew chief)
5. Ken Mauer
6. Mike Callahan
7. Tony Brothers
8. James Capers
9. Marc Davis
10. Ed Malloy
11. Bill Kennedy
12. Jason Phillips
That would mean that the 6 conference finals officials who don't work the Finals would be: Bill Spooner, Derrick Stafford, John Goble, Ron Garretson, Zach Zarba, and Tom Washington.
I'd rethink my list slightly if one of the 6 in that last list works tomorrow night's game.
All streaks are made to be broken.
that's what I'm thinking, how are we drawing him again so soon, damn!
Mauer?
Zarba on Saturday night. Just called up Tim and he my spaced me back with that answer.
Zarba working game 6 puts him in the Finals mix; maybe ahead of Kennedy, who is the alternate tonight.
