I don't have a caption for it, but LJ and I were talking about that picture this weekend. Billy Knight has a lot of balls for refusing to shake his hand.
Pictured - Steve Belkin (rt.) and Billy Knight (left).

Slap me some skin, brother.
Billy: What's a matter wich you Forrest? 'you stupid or sump'n?
Steve Belkin tries to put the "stink palm" to Billy Knight.
"Umm...how do the kids say it...oh yeah...uh....'word, dog'?"
Steve, you should really have that wart looked at.
Knight: Don't bother me, fool, I'm praying. Obviously my prayers were answered, because we're getting rid of your sorry ass.
Now get the out of my church, you freakin' loser.
link to the story behind the pic?
Because Belkin was still in charge of the Hawks and could fire him. Why?
In that pic doesnt look like he cares.
No link, but my recap ..
The picture is from the day in court that the judge decided that the other owners could not remove Belkin as the team governor and therefore Belkin could still block the trade of JJ to the Hawks. Belkin is the one standing up, he's trying to shake Billy Knight's (GM) hand but Knight refused.
Give me the $70 mill. I can play better than JJ.
Ha.. good point. Could the other owners block that move though?
How things change...

"Billy Knight has a great track record for building winning teams in the NBA," says Steve Belkin, Atlanta Hawks Board of Managers and Governor. "We challenged him to form a team that will play an up-tempo, exciting and compe ive style of basketball and in less than a year, Billy has done this. He has significantly upgraded our roster by adding young, athletic players and key veterans who know how to win. He's also assembled a new coaching staff that has NBA Championship experience. Billy's plan for improving this club now and for the long term is taking shape and we're thrilled to have him as part of our family for many years to come."
“Not since the Minnesota Timberwolves from 2002-03 to 2003-04, has an NBA team dramatically changed its look,” said Mullin, “and the credit goes to Billy Knight. It was his vision to create the financial flexibility to enable us to become a better franchise for years to come, and this was the first step as we return this organization to respectability. We are pleased to reward Billy for his hard work and determination in restarting the process.”
If Knight was named by Hawks board of owners representatives, which is the normal way general managers and other key personel is hired, it would have requiered another reunion to fire him - because the other owners could still have deposited their trust in him.
