If we're going to play big, and Miami plays small. Why aren't we abusing them for it? Post up Duncan, and make them sub in some size. Splitter had some good post moves from what I can remember, but it's been forever since he's been used at all. When LeBron is guarding Tony, it should be automatic to dump in to Leonard.

We did it in the Mavs, and Blazers series, so I'm not sure what Pop is thinking with his gameplan this series.

i don't understand how duncan starts out the game big and the rest of the game, they don't pass him the ball. same thing happened in game 6 last year. 25 in the first half and the 2nd half parker and others just avoid passing him the ball. doesn't make sense.

Splitter has decent post moves but they're not good enough to overcome the help defense Miami brings. Miami knows he's more likely to pass in that situation (or throw up a hook or some weak shot). If he's passing out of the post the shooters need to make open shots or the guards need to drive. Then the post up really only wasted time. Duncan and Diaw post ups do need to happen more though. It seemed like Diaw has been almost OVER-aggressive when he's been posting up. Just my opinion though.

Don't have to post up, just need to move the ball until the defense cannot rotate in the post and Duncan or Splitter gets a one on one going to the hoop. Post up only when the opportunity presents itself on a miss match. BTW, Kawhi should post up any mismatches as well, but keep the ball moving when the double team shifts.

The Spurs always do fadeaways when posting up! They dont go towards the basket tryna draw contact! They dont rebound well either. So why not play smallball.

The last time Splitter posted up against the Heat, he was shut down by Shane Battier. I agree with the Duncan post ups though. If Parker and Ginobili are being locked down, Duncan is the only other option. I don't want to see more failed penetrations followed by a bad pass followed by a bad heavily contested shot or turnover.

Game 2s closing TD, Many, Kawhi, TP and Diaw
When Lebron guards TP they put Chalmers on Kawhi.....easy post up
    Same with Allen, Cole

I know, It may have been because he was tired, 20 minutes of carrying the offense on his back at the age of 37. They probably went away from the straight up post ups and into more P&Rs to save Duncans legs. Thats my theory at least. Pop must have thought this because he sat him the first 5 minutes 1/2 minutes of the fourth and not including a full 2 minute timeout. He must have been gassed. I don't think he scored at all in the final 10 minutes of the game.

I thought Miami closed with Wade, Allen, Lebron, Bosh and Anderson. Chalmers and Cole were benched because they've played poorly. I think Allen him for a stretch until he fouled out.

Not sure its s simple. The Splitter-Duncan pairing has 0 spacing. Splitter is either waiting on the left or right baseline while Duncan posts up on the opposite side. Meaning an extra defender is only a few steps away, not to mention Miami's guards collapsing and quickly recovering on their defenders.

Splitter does have decent moves but Duncan is a spotty jump shooter so they would likely try and help Lewis out in the post.

The best best for "operation post up" is to start Duncan and Diaw together. Diaw can spot up in the left corner while Duncan works on Bosh. Diaw is crafty enough to be effective in the post even with Duncan or Splitter on the other side.

As for Leonard, the Duncan and Diaw paring should give him the most room to operate.

especially when Duncan and Splitter are in together they've got to post up more, draw some fouls on Bosh, crash the offensive boards. etc.
