Can't post Stein's tweet, but he's reporting that coach Synder in Utah and Kerr in GS both wanted Chip to be on there staffs.

Hoping he doesn't leave the spurs...

Engelland, who famously worked w/Grant Hill & Tony Parker before helping Kawhi w/his J, also said to be sought by new Jazz coach Quin Snyder

Among postseason challenges for Spurs is hanging onto Engelland. New GSW coach Steve Kerr, I'm told, covets Chip on his bench as assistant

He is the highest paid shooting coach in the league. I am sure the Spurs will pay him more if they have to. He is not going anywhere IMO. Guys love him on this team.

His loss would be pretty hurtful I would imagine. Pay the man.

The only way I see him leaving is for a top-assistant spot somewhere else. I doubt he goes to new, unstable staffs just to go.

As great as it is to see all of the Spurs staff sprinkled throughout the Association, and constantly being sought out every single season, the greedy side of me never wants to see them go.

Exactly. He would have to be making 1mil + a year as a top assistant. Spurs are already paying him close to 750k a year I believe. That is what most top assistant coaches are making at the moment. More work, more hours and potentially working with players you don't like and for an owner/gm you don't like as well. I don't see Chip making a move at this point.

Wow... former Spurs organization folk raiding the nest!

Quin Snyder used to coach the Toros. Appears their GM used to be part of the Spurs front office.

Darn... the entire league coaching staff and management are all Spurs alumni!

makes no sense for chip to leave a HOF coach and HOF players to play second fiddle to a cokehead rookie head coach and steve kerr, another rookie head coach.

From his first to last day of commentary, Kerr has been stealing from the Spurs' shine. It's only right he steals as a coach as well... I'm sick of seeing Pop getting his coaches stripped left and right. RC Buford we know you're cheap but PAY Chip

Chip will take a look at both the teams and realize none of them will last the duration. He's staying put. Now if Doc Rivers called, i'd be worried.

Throw money at it until the problem goes away... take it from the AC budget.

Chip is possibly the most underrated aspect of this long Spurs run IMO..

I like Kerr's chances as a coach, tbh..he understands the NBA has changed/is changing and is already trying to mimic the Spurs' organization..smart move..

The Warriors with a real coach are going to be a problem in next year's West..

Kerr is a long time friend... San Francisco is a great place to live... He'd get to work with the best shooter of his generation in Curry while making more money/having more responsabilities... Definitely could understand if he took the offer... Snyder on the other hand has no shot...

Why would he leave if he weren't going to have a bigger role on a team elsewhere? Pay him and let him stay, he's essential to our talent-building.

Where's Chip from? Could there be any off-the-court / out of the office temptations to move like extended family, etc?
