    Game
    San Antonio @ Miami

    Official 1; Official 2; Official 3; Alternate
Joe Crawford; Mike Callahan; Tom Washington; John Goble

The cliff diving after game 4 will be unbearable (like after every Spurs loss).

I saw a frightening stat posted on Twitter that Lebron is 25-3 in playoff games where Joey refs. Can anyone confirm?

My friend posted this on my FB wall but I can't confirm if true.

Interesting stat for tonights game. In the "Big Three" era of Lebron, Wade and Bosh they are 11-0 with an average 12 point margin of victory with Joey Crawford reffing one of their playoff games.
EDIT: Actually I don't even know the context of this. 11-0 in series? Home playoff games? Pretty sure Joey has reffed more than 11 playoff games for them in the last few years.

    Taken from WayDownTown:

Joey, Callahan, and Washington are about as experienced a Finals crew as the league could reasonably put together for a game this early in the series. Joey will work his 49th Finals game tonight (for sake of comparison, the other 11 Finals officials this year have worked a ulative total of 96 Finals games over the courses of their careers; if you take Danny Crawford out of that, the other 10 Finals officials have ulatively worked 66 Finals games (or only 17 more than Joey has by himself)). Callahan has called at least one game in all but one Finals since 2003 and 15 Finals games total. Washington is working his 4th Finals since 2008 and is working the 4th Finals game of his career tonight.

    Joey Crawford

Miami is 10-6 in the Big 3 era with Joey; they are 8-2 at home over that span; they are 3-2 in the Finals. The Heat are 2-0 in the 2014 Playoffs with Joey (won Game 5 vs. Brooklyn; won Game 2 at Indiana).

Spurs are 23-16 since 1990 with Joey; 8-12 on the road; 5-3 in the Finals. The Spurs are 2-1 in the 2014 Playoffs with Joey (won Game 1 vs. Dallas; won Game 2 vs. Portland; lost Game 4 at OKC).

    Callahan

Miami is 14-2 in the Big 3 era with Callahan; they are 9-0 at home over that span; they are 4-1 in the Finals. The Heat are 3-0 in the 2014 Playoffs with Callahan (won Game 1 vs. Brooklyn; won Game 2 at Indiana; won Game 6 vs. Indiana).

Spurs are 17-12 all-time with Callahan; 4-7 on the road; 3-3 in the Finals. The Spurs are 1-1 in the 2014 Playoffs with Callahan (won Game 5 vs. Dallas; lost Game 4 at OKC).

    Washington

Miami is 5-4 in the Big 3 era with Washington; they are 2-2 at home over that span; they are 1-0 in the Finals. The Heat are 1-1 in the 2014 Playoffs with Washington (won Game 4 at Charlotte; lost Game 5 at Indiana).

Spurs are 11-9 all-time with Washington; 2-8 on the road. He's never called a Spurs Finals game. The Spurs are 1-2 in the 2014 Playoffs with Washington (lost Game 3 at Dallas; won Game 1 vs. Portland; lost Game 3 at OKC).

Unverified stats from another forum. Basically:

    - LeBron averages 9.5 free throw attempts per game with Tom Washington officiating; most among refs w/15+ games
    - Miami has 10 straight playoff wins w/Callahan; longest active postseason W streak in NBA
    - Since the Duncan-Crawford incident in 2007, #Spurs are 18-15, including a 3-5 in the playoffs, with Joe Crawford officiating

    Bottom line, Spurs are ed.

Weren't the Heat undefeated at home with Tony Brothers in the Big 3 era, yet got nailed to the cross by the Spurs in Game 3? Keep in mind the Heat's record with a lot of these officials is going to be very good because they've been to the Finals four years in a row. The Heat have 59 playoff wins since the LeBron and Bosh arrived. They are going to have favorable records with most officials because they have been winning more than losing during their run, and their compe ion in the Eastern Conference has not tested them very often. As we saw from the Spurs in Game 3, a dominant game on both ends of the floor can overcome the tendencies of the officials. Will they shoot lights out for an entire half like Game 3? Probably not. But the Heat also shot a high percentage in that game so I expect both teams to regress toward the mean in Game 4.

Also keep in mind, at 2-1 with Game 5 looming in San Antonio, the Heat are on the brink RIGHT NOW. If they go back to SA down 3-1, there's a very high chance the Spurs close them out on Sunday. They'll be playing with a lot of aggression tonight. Spurs fans always blame the refs if the game is close and the Spurs could have won if the other team didn't get as many trips to the line. But consider the Heat are an elite, championship team as well and they will not go down without a fight. So if they're extra aggressive tonight and are rewarded with free throws, keep that in mind.

This is how I will judge the refs, and the NBA in general, tonight. This is going to be my own barometer of things, and actually means nothing...except to me.

If Kawhi and/or Green get 3 fouls by the midway point of the 2nd quarter (which will mean Pop will sit them)...I will be concerned. If Kawhi and/or Green get their 4th foul early in the 3rd (again, Pop generally sits them when that happens)...I, personally, will never trust the NBA again.
