They matched up well with the Thunder and they have the depth to wear down Miami like we did.

What do you think, do Mavs take it if they beat us this year?

I could see the Mavs taking out the Thunder by virtue of matchup and coaching. And the Heat could have been beaten by multiple teams coming out the West IMO. They just sucked this year. Maybe even the Thunder could have beat The Heat this year..

They might be the second best team in Texas, but it's very debatable.

The mavs don't match up well with either the Thunder or Heat. They have better coaching but PG play isn't up to par and they don't have the inside presence. Just because the Spurs started the playoffs sleepwalking and guys like Carter and Calderon shot way above themselves doesn't mean they're the 2nd best team.

Mavs played a gimmicky defense that worked because the Spurs main guys werent healthy or just played poorly for whatever reason
things like Duncan not scoring on smaller guys and Parker not being able ot beat Dirk off the dribble

that with the fact all their scrubs had career series
guys like Calderon were being aggressive shooting
Marion didnt miss one game basically
    Dalembert turned into Dennis Rodman
Devin Harris turned into Steph Curry
Wright basically didnt miss that I can remember the entire series
Blair was getting double doubles in 10 minutes and locking down Duncan

if they played a team like the Thunder who have great iso players they would have gotten torched trying the same strategy they did vs the Spurs

I seriously doubt that one. No matter what LBJ and the Heat players said in the back of their minds they no matter how much they tried to Psych themselves up deep down they feared playing us. They know deep down that they stole that championship last year right out from under us. We were the last team they wanted to face idc what Wade and the rest of those guys said. They would had probably beatin OKC in 5 games. I give OKC one game maybe with either Durant or WB goes off for some ridiculous number. Other than that the Heat would had run circles around them. We were/are the only team presently constructed in the NBA to beat the Heat. Most of the bandwagon Heat fans here in Baltimore were cheering when Ibaka came back for OKC because they knew that OKC was the only current team that gave us any real problems.

Mavs do get credit for trying something that worked against Spurs until the Spurs figured it out.

    Two things to note:
    1) I heard on TV that a Spurs players stated that the end of season rest disrupted the Spurs rhythm. It took a few games for the Spurs to get into a rhythm again.
    2) Most people will agree that Carter traveled on the game 3 winner. If the shot gets wiped off. Spurs win 4-1.

Even though the series went 7 games, I oddly enough never felt stressed or worried about the Spurs pulling it off against the Mavs. Least stressful 7 game series I've ever watched.
