    I am changing my mind.

David Ortiz didn't do much for the first eight innings. He made up for it in the last two last night at Detroit. Ortiz tied the score with a ninth-inning homer off Detroit Tigers closer Fernando Rodney, then hit a three-run shot off Jamie Walker during a seven-run 10th that carried the Boston Red Sox to a 10-7 victory Tuesday night.

Here is a quote from Johnny Damon last night:

"He's the best hitter in the game when it counts, The best clutch hitter I've ever seen."

He won games 4 and 5 with walkoff hits against NY last year that led to their historic comeback in that series, and he has produced this year as well. Manny might have a few more RBIs and HR's but Ortiz is coming up when it counts. Now how much of this is because he has Manny hitting behind him I do not know, but Big Poppy is the best DH is the game by far.

David Ortiz. Wake me up when he can do anything else but hit. No wonder that fat is on the DH. He probably couldn't do a god damn thing out in the field.

Soon enough if Tony Graffanino hits a game winning homerun, you'll change it to. Oh i'm sorry everyone. Tony Graffanino is the greatest hitter in baseball.

    Hardly....the numbers back me up:

    Sortable Batting
RK PLAYER TEAM AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI SB CS BB BA OBP SLG OPS
    1 Manny Ramirez Bos 394 84 113 23 1 32 108 1 0 60 .287 .385 .594 .979
    2 David Ortiz Bos 442 90 134 33 1 31 107 1 0 74 .303 .400 .593 .992
    3 Alex Rodriguez NYY 446 88 141 20 0 36 97 11 5 68 .316 .416 .603 1.019
    4 Mark Teixeira Tex 482 84 134 26 1 31 95 4 0 50 .278 .354 .529 .883
    5 Albert Pujols StL 445 101 150 29 1 33 94 11 0 68 .337 .432 .629 1.061

You can see my quandary...the numbers are almost identicle....both are on top of the standings in stats in HRs and RBIs.

BTW, I think you meant to say you're lame.

Vladimir Guerrero looks like McCovey when he was in his hitting grove... Guerrero batted .450 this past month...And that’s with a weak Angles line up...Pitchers rarely throw in the strike zone to Guerrero....

I'm sure Ortiz wouldn't be as good without Manny protecting him in the line up...

    Oh contrare'

Last year Manny hit in front of David and as you can see, the stats are equal.

    Let us compare:

SEASON TEAM G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB SO SB CS AVG OBP SLG OPS

    2005 LAA 102 387 70 126 22 1 26 88 34 36 10 1 .316 .386 .589 .975

I see no reason why Vlad is considered better than my two Sox. Vlad trails David in every category but BA and that is by 1%...hardly worth mentioning.

Tonight, we find out, as they play each other....although, the Angels' pitcher tonight is their Ace and we have Wakefield whose 5 ERA scares only me.

Manny plays in the outfield and he has more assists than any outfielder in the league. Look it up.

    D Erstad singled to center.
    O Cabrera struck out looking.
    C Figgins struck out swinging.
    Start of Inning

Yeah, and the guy is pathetic.

The guy is a joke for an outfielder.

Ive never seen a guy botch so many easy fly balls, and not hustle down so many other shots, than THAT guy.

So dont even TRY to defend HIM.

The Angels killed the Sox last night. Colon was awesome and Wakefield and the Pen sucked. Neither Manny, Ortiz or Vlad did anything at all.

I am predicting that Boston wins tonight though. Clement is pitching and Lackey is pitching for LA. Manny kills Lackey usually, so I am countng on a huge game from Manny.

    • Struggling offense breaks out for 15 hits, including two three-run homers by Rivera, and Colon is sharp in a 13-4 win over Boston to open four-game series.

For one night, at least, everything seemed right in the Angels' world. OK, not everything. Center fielder Steve Finley's struggles continued with an 0-for-4 performance that dropped his average to .216, and left fielder Garret Anderson missed his fifth consecutive game because of a lower-back injury.

Boston Red Sox gave up 13 runs with the Angels Clean up hitter batting .200?

Was that the Dominican Republic Series?

Angels 2 to 1 in Dominican Republic Series..

ANAHEIM -- Dominican Republic natives and Boston Red Sox MVP candidates David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez shared a few laughs with fellow Dominican and MVP candidate Vladimir Guerrero of the Angels Thursday afternoon during batting practice.

Another of their countrymen did not participate in the jovial reunion...

Instead, Bartolo Colon stayed in the Angels clubhouse, contemplating how to shut down a Red Sox team that ranks No. 1 in the American League in eight offensive categories...

Dominican Republic native Ervin Santana pitched Saturday night stifling the Red Sox for seven innings in a 4 to 2 victory...
