Was just about to do this.
Spurs picks...30, 58 and 60.
If we could get Slomo, timvp, Kori Ellis or Deuce to turn this into a live thread that would be much appreciated.

No kidding. Not even a sniff and we won it all this year.
I miss timvp's draft previews.![]()
Some clarification by Sham on trading first rounders:
Spurs picks will be Bogdanovic, Birch and Bairstow.
...and we are live.![]()
Gee I'm really glad you created this "official" draft thread, since all the unofficial ones were becoming ostentatious.
No way Capela falls all the way to #30.DX currently has him at #20 in their mock. Would be amazing if it happened, though.
As for the draft itself, I love it when the Spurs finish #1 overall in the regular season, but I hate it come draft night.
I love and hate this day.![]()
We've dealt with Phoenix before(Barbosa, Dragic), I wonder if we could get a deal with them to move up.
Did some research, but there weren't any future draft considerations involved.
There is going to be a lot of movement tonight.
I really hope we get Jokic. Already 6'11", 250 pounds with a 7'3" wingspan at age 19. Kevin Pelton projected him to be one of the best steals of the draft based of WARP projections. As of now DX has him going in the early 2nd round. If we could trade one of our 2nd round picks + something else for an early 2nd round pick and get Jokic, I'd be thrilled.
Historical "Minutes Played" breakdown of first overall picks.

Everyone's lining up for a big splash during free agency while the Spurs are methodically rolling along with their own plans. I doubt teams want to deal with the Spurs though, especially with their draft record but if they don't find any deals the Spurs could be in the play.

For those hoping to find anything at any of the late picks (58 and 60), here are the top guys by career minutes played picked after 55 under the current two round format... One HOFer, and six other decent rotation players (Scola, Sessions, Amir Johnson, Gortat, Isaiah #2 and Patty). Slim pickings but not necessarily a complete waste.
21555 Ginobili, Manu (57)
15245 Scola, Luis (55)
12059 Sessions, Ramon (56)
11235 Johnson, Amir (56)
10600 Gortat, Marcin (57)
6485 Bowen, Ryan (55)
6274 Thomas, Isaiah (60)
5370 Reid, Don (58)
4503 Carr, Chris (56)
3519 Moore, E'Twaun (55)
3265 Mills, Patrick (55)
2104 Evans, Jeremy (55)
1292 Sacre, Robert (60)
Really unathletic though. Plays below the rim. That limits his upside. Not saying he won't be a good player causes he's skilled, but unathletic big men tend to struggle in this league.
I expect a foreigner or a trade out.
As far as Americans go I am hoping for Jordan Adams to fall.
The draft can't get here soon enough for me, the drama, the suspense.
Looking like Euro prospects like Capela, Taveras, and Bagdonovic might all be gone by 30. Wouldn't be surprised at all if we trade back into the 2nd round.
This is a good opportunity for the Spurs to perhaps push against the grain/what they usually do. They could reach up and poach a player if many teams seem to be fleeing the rookie scale of the late first round. A player like Kyle Anderson, for example, or Clint Capela.
I can't wait to say "who the ?" tonight!
There's a chance Glenn Robinson Jr and/or Jerami Grant will be available at 30. Both would be good prospects for us. Spurs won't pay a non-impact rookie though, and rightfully so.
