Spurs players have been signed, without letting their egos get in the way. If Pau were a character guy, that the spurs covet, then he shouldn't be wishy-washy about the decision. His indecision is a red-flag to me.

Spurs need Gasol, Duncan can EASILY fall off any day now and there goes SA's consistent post presence.
Ditto, without Gasol, Spurs are close to neck-n-neck with OKC (Spurs will need to try and get HC again). With him, they favorites (HC or not).
It's that simple.
In other words, Gasol's presence would aid in the management of Duncan's minutes... further extending both careers...
I just doubt that anyone has let Gasol know that he's on your timeline to decide his future.
Gasol is a steal at the MLE. It'll help minimize the impact of Kawhi's max contract for the next couple of years.

Gasol coming to the Spurs should help make them the favorites again, especially with Houston getting Bosh and keeping Parsons.
However if Cleveland gets Love in a trade then that would change things too, as would Chicago getting Melo.

Surely TS identified similar red flags when Duncan was wishy-washy about his decision between San Antonio and Orlando. You have a real knack for identifying which players aren't character guys.
