Hmmm, you know you are right. If only Spurs could sign big name free agents, they might win more championships like the Knicks. They might even get to pay 91 million in Luxury taxes like Brooklyn. They might be more respected like Boston. Damn our Spurs' front office.

What this does confirm though is the Bulls aren't getting Melo. And that OKC (which we knew) isn't getting Pau. Both would have been scary propositions.

    This old argument...
If the Celtics had won the 97 draft lottery they and TD would have 7+
Spurs FO is good but money and luck matter more

Spurs actually tell the players the truth. Unlike Doc and others who promises them everything.

Gasol is washed up. And what about last year? Marco could have signed for more elsewhere and he choose S.A. even though he didn't have a great playoff run (but he did make a few important shots in the finals)

Been arguing this point for years on ST. Diaw was considered to be washed up when he came here after being waived by Charlotte for Pete's sake. (by the way, Diaw's full name is Boris Babacar Diaw-Riffiod. Who knew?)

Marco was a never-was bench rat with stats marginally better than Gary. I wouldn't call him a premier free agent.

    Gasol is washed up.
Or is he? Doing that procedure done a lot in Germany called Orthokine (known in US as regeokine).
Actress Kobe Bryant had good results and it may have been what helped Timmy Dunkars return to legit NBA Champion status.

Pau returning to or near his level of play when he was the best player on both Memphis and LA?
