We just won the damn championship. So sit back, and relax. Enjoy it while you can. The front office is going to do what they want, and not what you start a thread about. Leave it to them; they know what they are doing. The market this year for players has been absolutely stupid; however, They didn't over pay for Boris and Patty. At the moment, even with everyone's acquisitions, we are still the best team in the NBA. So please, just chill.
Solid thread. You certainly needed to be heard.
You my dude but this thread corny as .
I go on a lot of useless 'enjoy while you have it' rants, but to make a whole thread about it? Too much imo.
The only thing I'd want out of this off-season is a Duncan game-impersonator. Mills/Cotton/Joseph can fill in for Parker, Marco will give Manu rest, Kyle Anderson should allow Boris Diaw time off, now all the Spurs need is a big body with decent mobility who can rebound/not get lost defensively. The could've been Ayres, but yeah 2013-14 happened.
I think finding a back-up SF is overrated, Manu has done a solid job in the department.
Nah, this thread needs to exist. Last year we were the best, and it wasn't close. So far this off-season the teams that could have been the biggest threats to us - Dallas, Houston, OKC, Miami - struck out in their attempts to get better, and there's no reason to think any other team has suddenly become a contender. If there's room on the front page for Wesley Johnson, there's room for a dose of reality.
So since they won the championship just shut down Spurs forum until October?
It's the internet. People speculate.
As soon as I clicked post, I sighed. I knew it wouldn't matter.
Plan B - hope OKC has injuries in the playoffs again, and the Spurs don't
Plan A was being able to bring back Boris and Patty. With all the crazy contracts given out this summer, I'm in awe at the deals RC got done.
You always ing.
And you always a got.
17,000+ post of ing.
Sometimes resting on your laurels isn't good enough. The Spurs still have a great team, but it's a long season. With Manu/Patty missing time, there's a reasonable chance that the Spurs don't secure HCA. There's a reasonable chance that the Thunder or Clippers find a new gear. There's a chance that Duncan slows down considerably, although he's been beating Father Time handily so far. There's a chance Diaw doesn't play with the same focus.
The Spurs' 3-man big rotation of TD/Splitter/Diaw is fine for a playoff series. They need a reliable 4th big for the regular season, maybe it's Anderson or Baynes but maybe they aren't ready yet. Errors and Bonner are unlikely to make a difference. Belinelli needs to improve and Daye needs to show something, but if not, there's a bigger burden on TP/Green/Joseph/Leonard since Manu and Patty won't be available to start the season. Are any of the players stashed overseas ready?
The Spurs need 1 more big and 1 more wing for some quality depth during the regular season.
Bingo. Spurs just brought back a championship squad. Anything else was gravy tbh.
I tend to agree.
And this may be a huge reason the Spurs have never repeated after winning a championship, that they have never significantly upgraded their roster as other teams did in order to compensate to be able to get past them.
My hope was that after four tries, they would have learned this lesson.
31 post a day since you been here. All ing. Your estrogen levels gotta be off the charts for a 22 year old male.
