FOLSOM, Calif. (AP) — An Emmy award-winning television news anchor in Sacramento is facing grand theft charges in connection with the alleged shoplifting of $2,500 worth of Coach wallets.
Television station KCRA reports (http://bit.ly/1tGWDyc ) that Sabrina Rodriguez, a reporter and anchor at Fox 40 News in Sacramento, turned herself into Folsom police on Thursday after a warrant was issued for her arrest.
KCRA says the warrant alleges that Rodriguez helped an accomplice steal the wallets from an outlet store in Folsom last year.
KTXL, Fox 40 News' parent station, said in a short story posted on its web site Friday that Rodriguez maintains she is innocent and has taken a voluntary leave from her job.

Prosecutors said a series of text messages suggest otherwise, with

Rodriguez allegedly texted to Gray, “awesome. I love when a plan comes together.”

Wow, only 60 days in jail with that most likely to only be 30. And that the judge considered house arrest only vs jail. It's over now, i'm just looking back.

Looks like she had a great lawyer to go from 3 felonies to one misdemeanour and no felonies. A month in jail is probably what she will see if she makes trustee, and hopefully a ton of court costs.

Lets look at the text message..“so easy -- I got 100 dlr purses” and ‘I got 8 $350 cashmere sweaters plus skirts I got rent.”This could have been any number of scenarios.....maybe the boyfriend claimed he'd get them at a discount or sweet talk the sales lady.....maybe her response was a response to his text and a verbal conversation about it earlier where he explained his plan was to buy at a discount and resell it..but didnt tell her he was actually going to steal it....

Sentencing was in early 2015.
She only had to do 30 days of house arrest. No jail whatsoever.
